I also didnt see the pics (but it says new generation AMG steering wheels), but I think the steering wheels are changed to look like the S63's from last year as well as the upcoming CLS (if you've seen pics of the interior of the CLS53)

Damn! My car is going to be here any day now. Now I have a tough decision to make. Big thing I wanted was the heated steering wheel. Being in Canada I have gotten used to having it on my vehicles.

doesnt look like it... my guess was we had a V6 TT E400 (329hp) and a V6TT E43 (394hp)... I think they made the 362hp E450 to split them and eliminate the need for two V6TT engines... although the inline 6 hybrid assisted E53 could still show up (so far I only see on the cab, but know the coupe is coming also)

Makes sense - thanks! I wouldn't be surprised if we see an E53 AMG to compete with the BMW M550i and Audi S6.

Seems like 360 surround is standard now. This used to be integrated into the premium pkg.

Interesting since one of the reasons I wanted premium was the surround view. Maybe distronic is worth it though, not sure yet.

I don't have any inside information on what MB's plans are, but I'm not sure that we should write the E43 off just yet... Last year it didn't show up in the DOG until the 5th revision after the initial release was put out.

Just noticed the guide says launch date for the 2019 AMG as Q3 2018. So does that mean if you ordered now you would not receive until the fall of 2018?

Hi Shahul--do you mean that July-August is when they will build them? Or when they land in the US?

I would be interested in more information on the long term plan of the E43. Especially given I have a vested interested in purchasing one. If there is an E53 coming out, I wonder what the details and timing will be.

I feel like a E53 will be a much better competitor to the M550i than the current e43

I just read the stats on the new E53 engine. Stock torque output is about the same at 384 torque. E53 gets an edge in overall horsepower at 429 compare to the 396 in the E43. 0 to 60 times are estimated to be about the same. I think the edge goes to the E53 given the new electric motor supplementing the engine and effect it has on daily driving. Not sure it has any effect for more aggressive sports driving. Not to mention a quick tune on the E43 puts it well into competition with the S6 and M550i.
