Well im confused because the race from off the line clearly had the wagon pulling way ahead of the w213.

The wagon is tuned, the W213 sedan isn't (or so the description says); the sedan pulled harder from the start and, as you can see if you watch the whole thing, it never let up. Watch the entire video or do so at least from 45 seconds in...

If you are talking about the posted video here, there is no "pulling way ahead" ever. Gustav's vids are always from the roll and it was a relatively even start from the cone. Then the W213 said goodbye.
This is right after the final cone or the WOT section and the angle looks like the wagon is a nose ahead but thats just the point; Gustavs videos are from this angle and its a bit skewed:

i understand the roll race the w213 was faster but in the race from 3:00 it looked like a clear win for the wagon.
Are really saying both are the same race just from different

Saw also this race here with similar mods but I’m guessing it’s the weight difference betwwwn the wagon and the CLS
After the tune, did you replace the plugs? If so, what did you use?
I didn't. I've re-gapped plugs with other cars in the past following a tune but neither replacing them nor re-gapping was mentioned here. Why do you ask?

Was just curios because I’ve read other threads about new plugs or re-gapping after a tune. I have a cls63 and there has been quite a bit of info about colder plugs, stock plugs, etc. I can’t keep it straight so I was just wondering what u did. I’m goimg to use EC for my tune and I believe they recommend a colder plug for the tune on the 2012.
The m157 with a tune (w212) most tuners went with a colder plug. I did on my 2014 with EC tune. I’ve not heard anything about plugs on any of the w213 tunes so far.
Its the same race from a very left side angle, Im not sure how often you watch Gustav's races (GTBoard) but he often shows the same race twice from interesting angles. Since this angle clearly 'favors' the wagon I can see why one might think it took the sedan- but it didnt.

Ahh ok thanks. Sorry as i didnt realize that. The angle really does make it look the opposite from what happened, thats crazy lol.
In the other video i posted, they had the CLS63 with the same mods as the wagon (tune and downpipes), and here it did beat it. Most likely its the difference in weight and aero between the wagon and the coupe-sedan.

Yes, I saw that. The CLS was stage 2 which gives it DP's (more tq and hp than Stage 1 which I believe was the wagon in the Gustav video) so I am not shocked. The M157 tuned to a stage 2 is more powerful by quite a bit over a stock E63S.

My numerous (cos I had nothing else to do on this car lol) showed hardly any changes between stage 1 and stage 2 on a Renntech tune. The Eurocharged tune only, however, gave me more (~26rwhp) horsepower over the Renntech stage two tune with downpipes.

So the M157 with dp and stage 2 did NOT gain much thru the usable curves of the rpm cycle? I figured the peak numbers werent that great over stage 1 but remember a few M157s with dp's showing some nice usable tq gains from 2500 to 5500 rpms over stage 1 cars.

Definitely with eurocharged tune they do make a pretty big difference, not just in peak power but over the entire powerband.
BUT its hard to say if the CLS would of been on stage 1, if it would of at least still kept up or beat the stock W213.
Compared to the wagon there is a big weight difference and aero factor to keep in mind which definitely makes a difference.
The other factor is even from stage 1 to stage 1, some tunes on these M157s make alot more power than others, so maybe it was also running a much more aggresive tune on it even for stage 1 only.

ONCE AGAIN (YES CAPS) TUNE FOR TUNE, W212 and W213 have pretty much the SAME DYNO #s. No one one is talking about your stupid you tube videos with a roll race between a wagon and a sedan. Don't be salty because my W212 puts out the same power as your W213 with a tune.
