Over heating Transmission
Last week I changed my transmission oil at 3000km.
Yesterday I drove for like 45 min and my transmisión oil was at 121C! The dealer told me it should not be a big problem. If it is dangerous the car will tell me to get off the car.
Anyways, today I drove again for like 45min and the temperature start rising 120C until 124! I got worried and told the dealer to come pick up the car.
in that time the had a message saying to stop the car, leave engine on for transmission cooling. Here is the picture.

Ya thats weird that the trans oil was changed at 3K miles. You sure it was not the diff oil that was changed? I was not planning on changing my trans oil till around 50 K miles lol.

Yeah... no doubt. Well the timing seems conspicuously suspicious IMO. Take the car in for specific service and come out with another problem. I bet the tech serviced the tranny oil too in error. Perhaps the wrong oil was replaced... looks like you were in comfort mode and with a small passenger, so certainly not doing hot-laps at the track.
Good luck.
Good luck.

It happens when I drive for like 40-50 min, you see the transmission temperature going up by 1 degree every 3-5 min, non stop.

I really wonder if even though it says Transmission if it is the differential. Maybe when it shows it is hot crawl under the back of car and put a hand on the rear end. Be careful not to burn yourself. It could be because in German they refer to the rear axle as part of the trans or something? Keep in mind to drain the rear end gear oil it requires removing the temp sensor probe, so even if the rear end is not hot it could be a problem with the sensor or the wire. It just makes sense its something to do with the rear end gear oil change whereas the car was fine before you had this done. Definitely get it back to the dealer ASAP. Worst case they did not put the right type of oil in the rear end or not enough oil or the sensor is bonkers. Keep us up to date.

His readout is definitely firing an issue with transmission temp's, I dont even think we have a temp sensor for the diff fluid in our cars.

The dealer followed protocol. Update the system software, reset the system blahblahblah... Next step was to try the car for 40km. I said no, give me back the car and I will test it for 40k. Just 5 min before arriving my home, the temp reached again 120C. I had to return the car to the dealer for the next step. So sad that my car has to spend so much time at the dealer.
I was suppose to do Ceramic Coating tomorrow and now I can't.
No one have had this problem before?

I really wonder if that readout is legit or a system error of some sort. At 252 degrees F I'd think you'd be smelling burning smells and all or have some steam or smoke. Definitely leave it off at the dealer. Strange problem. I still think it has something to do with the Diff. Service.

In the Trans there may be a Temp Sensor, but like what Vic was saying Maybe no temp sensor in the rear end, that probe they need to remove to drain the gear oil from the rear end may just be a low oil level that signals to the dash when the oil is low in the rear end. I'm just thinking maybe something got screwed up with that probe during the rear end service and caused some kind of system error relating to the trans overheat warning you are getting. Like I said at those kinds of temps I'd think at the very least you'd be smelling the fluid frying. I could be wrong and maybe its just some kind of factory wiring defect or something, but thats what the good AMG mechanics are paid big bucks to troubleshoot. I would not worry too much about them joy riding the car or anything. Those AMG mechanics are highly paid well trained professionals and they are not gonna risk their job or reputation taking a AMG out to have fun with it. The good news is I doubt you damaged anything from the heat, It sure sounds like some kind of glitch that will be corrected and you will no longer be getting the false warning. There were a couple of guys who had trans failures in the 2018's. I doubt it is that though as the trans would be shifting weird and acting strange.
