I think they might not release every car the exact same time.. last year the E400 coupe came out mid to end of July... the E300 Sedan and Cab came out mid/late August... so it could be the case of some cars getting released in August and some in a Sept or Oct... if anything the AMG’s will maybe be on the back end of that.

Hey guys,
Been following the thread along as well. I have not ordered a E63 but a 2019 C43 coupe in Canada. I went in to the dealer on Saturday to get an update on the car.
My car arrived in Halifax on July 10th and has been there in VPC HOLD status since then. When I went to the dealer this weekend, they mentioned they just found out that there is a "60 day delay" from original planned release. He said that since it was initially planned to be released at the end of August, that it would now likely be released at the end of October.
He mentioned that this was not just the case for my car, but rather for all 2019s. Im not sure wether this would be the same for USA but just thought Id update everyone on what I heard. Perhaps you can all check with your dealers in the coming week to see if they received similar info.
Hope the wait for everyone is short and have a great week.

go fast grocery getter wagon
Not surprised with the cars hold status. There could be many reasons from marketing, excess inventory for MY2018 which it needs time to clear, government certification, etc.

Can anyone with a car at port or soon at port in the US nudge their dealer for an update this week? October would be insane.

It really scares me; if you can’t handle the logistics of delivering a car, how can you handle the logistics of building a car.

Going back to my other post. It amazes me MBUSA doesn’t value having all their dealers, not just on the same play, but at least the same playbook. No one seems to know what’s going on.

Yeah, agreed. It seems like every dealer, every sales agent - all seem to say different things or have different information... it is quite astonishing how unorganized this entire process is. My first time ordering a vehicle from build.
And the worst is know one knows what’s the hold up or who’s responsible etc.
Anyway, if anyone gets more info through the week would love any updates.

I'm even more concerned about how difficult it would be to get parts needed for repairing the car...

My 2018 was finally released about 1.5 wks ago or so after being held up in the VPC in Baltimore since June 6. They were apparently waiting for installation of the CF rear spoiler which was delayed due to limited supply. My dealer finally convinced the VPC to release the car with a painted rear spoiler, and to ship me the CF spoiler for dealer install when they are back in supply.

Hello,
My E63S has been at the Baltimore VPC since 7/16. I called MBUSA CAC +1-800-367-6372 and was told the release date is "mid September".
Our dealers don't seem to get any better information than us customers, so its a wait and see situation. If I would have known my car would sit for two months at the port, I would not have ordered it in March. Its not good business sense to hold vehicles that have been ordered by a customer, let us know when its being built, and track it over to the US just to have it sit and wait months. Maybe they will be released earlier, but doubtful.
Cheers to all those waiting.....

*Psst* They're making it up as they go. They have no idea when corporate is going to release them but they think it's better to placate buyers by lying than to sound like they're just as in the dark as you are.

I dont think there is anything like lying going on here. I have been happy with MB for years. Possibly MB doesn't have an adequate communications metric with their dealers. For that matter possibly no differentiating an actual sold vehicle to ones ordered as dealer stock/inventoried. We should ask MB to release the vehicles ordered directly for waiting customers. I think there is something like priority1.

I was just told by my sales person that my wagon is on the Valiant Ace currently in the Atlantic on it's way to America. It arrives in Brunswick on August 5, 2018, and then is set to arrive in Southern California by August 17, 2018. I was also told by my sales person that "all 2019 models" are on a 60-day hold due to "customs issues" and that my car is not expected to be released to the dealer until October 17, 2018. He said there is chance it may come sooner if the customs issue is resolved early.

And until there is official communication from MB, don’t believe anything. Assume the worst and hope for the best.
