I suspect this will turn into a "me, too"-fest... so let me be the first. I do... it's designed for precisely this as far as I'm concerned and it does it sooooo well. Carry the 4-person family in style... and outrun an Huracan on the way to the supermarket... perfect!

That would depend where I would live.
Used a 2014 for 1.5 year in Chicago and it was wearing me down on our potholes and generally horrible roads.
Drove the 2018 rental for a week in LA and was fine, most of the time (even though it felt stiffer then 2014) but would not commit here in Illinois.
It is time to replace my Audi, it will be either GT63S or M5, considered the new Panamera Turbo S but it is severely overpriced and does not make sense at roughly $60-70k over similarly equipped S63.

Will be my daily, but then again I daily drove a Cayman GTS with factory lower suspension in Toronto, Canada - drove it less in winter but still took it out 1-3 times weekly, depending on how much snow was on the ground. I know people who drive a F80 M3, and they store it for the winter
This car is meant to be a daily IMO.

My daily. No worries about driving it everywhere, pretty short commute so mileage isn't an issue.
The only issue I have with driving this car compared to my Jeep or other vehicles is I take a lot more care in parking it to avoid door nicks or running over a parking curb/wheel stopper.
With the Jeep I could park anywhere without fear because I drive that thing through all sorts of crap that scratches it up anyway so one more ding wouldn't likely be noticed.
I've managed to keep the doors ding free so far, but some inconsiderate a-hole will get me sooner or later.

Its my splitter on a daily basis along with the Porsche while the others take a back seat and enjoy the weekends. Its definitely capable of being used as a solo variant but can be brutally vicious in a race while equally classy on a cruise.

Well said, sir! Eloquent and accurate in one breath--are you sure you're not British? // doh, I'm guessing that sarcastic attempt at humour won't do much for my already-sad popularity... mwahahaha

I'm of course using the AMG as my daily driver..
The only problem is that there is only 42km of road in and around the city..
Had the car with me for 3 weeks of vacation in july, drove 8000km.. What a joy! I just love this car.
Waiting to get it back home now, will be here friday august 4.. And then waiting for the winter so I can use the winter tires again.

Well, I’ve taken all your words for it and bitten the bullet! Here is looking forward to my daily driver E63s Estate! Ordered today!
Everyone’s passion for this car came across in spades and ultimately while the M5 would have been a brilliant DD too, I have connected with the E63 on a emotional level (which I appreciate is sad!) and cannot wait!!
Thanks for everyone’s advice and input!

You want do E63 this time and M5 next time ... I hear the next gen M cars will be electrified ... would be interested to see if the M5 will top 700+ hp with ease

RS7 lease is up next summer, so i'm waiting until the winter to order a 2019 E63S Wagon, just can't decide on colour.
I'm partial to white to keep it a low key affair, 99% of the public is clueless about these wagons. Just the way i like it.

I entered e63 ownership from owning 2 sports cars - a 991.1 GTS and a BMW M4, looking for something more practical for daily driver duties that's still fast and interesting. The e63 is the perfect daily driver imho. Yes BMW (specifically the new M5) do things like infotainment and ride comfort materially better but the E63 has so much character that I honestly don't give a sh*t. At the end of the day, you're spending 60%+ of your miles in your daily driver (my definition) so what fits the bill needs to be endlessly interesting without being deal breakingly bad at the mundane. The E63 is insanely fast, comfortable, great sounding and good looking in a low key sort of way. I don't find the ride unacceptably bad (just don't expect it to be a luxo barge) and while COMAND is bafflingly designed and needlessly clunky, it does everything iDrive does at the end of the day. My Porsche ticks every sports car box I can dream of (NA, high revs, light weight) and the E63 does all the other stuff so well that I feel like I have pretty much the perfect 2 car garage. F*ck yeah its my daily driver! I couldn't be happier!
