Well the AMG GT 4 Door pricing is Porsche like

Price point is key for this mid size car and I just dont even seeing myself spending the gap to get the "cool" looking car.
The US price was virtually the same with US $135,000 (sans $995 delivery). No speculation, just a simple side by side price comparo... This was the same on our prior S-Class and SL configs...
If you want to go that way, it's even more pessimistic with the Edition 1 AMG GT 4-door retailing for $185,342.

Apart from these math exercises, the question will be if the car will be priced in the US to be sold quickly or sitting on lots. I realize that it's clearly targeted at the Panamera crowd but I look at it as a step-up over the M5 comp. performance-wise. And that car is cheap so I am thinking it'll be in the middle...
Just for reference, here is a German ED1 sedan build as close as offered in the US.

I don't remember, ever, a new model Porsche rotting on dealer lots like this new one.
Nothing wrong with the car itself, it is fabulous on it's own and even looks decent too, crazy, unrealistic pricing is turning people away.
It's not even the price itself but lack of value at that level.
I don't mind spending some exorbitant price on a car when I think it is worth it but no one likes to be played for a fool.
The thing that baffles me about the Panamera is that I almost never see it on the road, and I live in one of the top Porsche markets in the country. I rarely see the 911 also, and I know that there are many of them around here - people just don't daily drive them, and keep them as garage queens. However, the Panamera doesn't really make sense as a garage queen or special occasion or track car, so I don't know where they're hiding.

We had driven several of them and the lease numbers looked decent for a Porsche compared to other crazy numbers I have seen.

In reality, for anyone used to real performance cars like E63/M5/RS7, they truly feel like "slower then molasses", at freeway speeds when trying to quickly accelerate in particular, it's just not there.....
