@CincyMBGuy ok. thank you. Do you know when the 2023 vehicles will be priced so they can be shipped to the dealerships?
#657
@Radman991 wow! I don't know what they are doing, because if it's at the vpc they should've been priced the vehicles. They want even release the vehicles to the dealerships without a mrsp on it. This is my third time ordering a mercedes benz coming from germany, and I've never seen anything like this in my life. The mrsp was suppose to be put on the cars before they even are put on the ship to come to the united states. I've been waiting for months for my car, and its in my state just sitting at the vpc. smdh! I'm so upset that they are doing this to us.

Lots of people have a 23 sitting at a VPC, I tell myself there are worse problems and that usually works. Sometimes alcohol. Whatever gets a man through his first world problems you know...

No suggestions for the other times when alcohol does not work! But here we are waiting for a 23 E cabriolet that has been sitting at Brunswick for a month and a half outside with the worry about hurricane Ian passing reasonably close by.
Does anyone know how MB protects the convertible top while it is sitting outside for so long?

The only thing I have is my dealership tells me they have not seen it go past October if it's nothing other than a wait on pricing. They have a strong incentive to hold because of inflation; the build cost was fixed when it rolled out of the factory but the profit goes up with every inflationary day while they let it sit.

Annual MSRP increases typically track with the inflation rate so taking that into consideration 7% isn't bad.
You wouldn't get $2,800 off of MSRP at our dealership. The markup on a CLA250 is extremely small. I looked at the two we have incoming and the difference between invoice and MSRP is only about $1,800. If you don't take the car I'm sure someone else will the day it arrives so the dealership isn't concerned.

It's really helpful to know this unbiased information especially since you work in the dealership too.
I'm not sure if you know about this website, but at least in canada there's a website called "Unhaggle" where it shows the dealer cost is $49366 for CLA250 4matic and MSRP (with my options, 80% fully equipped car) $54815. I'm wondering how accurate is this, since you mention the difference between invoice and MSRP is about $1800 in the US for CLA2504matic (at least i assume this is base CLA without options).
Because from what I heard, the dealers make more money with more options and other extra thing like "waxing, etching, PPF, wheel lock" so I guess this is why on unhaggle webiste, it says $54815MSRP - $49366 invoice = $5449 difference between MSRP and invoice for a well equipped car with options. And comparing it to the $1800 you mentioned it seems to be very big difference
Thanks for taking your time to help me, I really appreciate. God bless!

Just as a reference so I can understand more about profit mercedes dealer make
can you give me few examples of a mercedes car with decent car options, the invoice price vs msrp?
Maybe CLA, C class, E class, GLC or something. I thought the difference between invoice and msrp is more like between 7% to 10%?
I didn't know you're only making $1800 for a CLA (difference between invoice and MSRP)

Hi Cincy. It’s been 2 weeks since my last inquiry. Can you give me an updated screen shot of my status. I suspect there has been no movement, but would like to see the latest info. Thanks.

Oh well, thanks for checking. Was hoping that with 2023s arriving at VPC that they may actually have finished mine. I think it’s time to give up on this and get a 2023 ordered. It’s been stuck with that hold since end of April.

@CincyMBGuy Could you check the status for
VIN: W1N0J8EB3PG129317 ?
I was told the car has been built but just sitting somewhere, hasn’t left yet.

Hey @CincyMBGuy My salesman called a little while ago and said my 2023 S500 is being picked up at the VPC and it should be at the dealership in the next couple days So it looks like the pricing has finally been released for the 2023's. Thanks again for your help looking up my car status.
