Buzzing door panels when listening to audio system thread
or jazz guitar since those have a huge amount of 220-280hz tones and there is no bass/drums to mask the buzz. With the stereo cranked, the issue is masked a lot and it is less noticeable although often present.
Here is what I posted in another thread on how to check for it. At frequencies between 220hz and 280hz, there is significant sympathetic buzzing coming from all the door panels and the ceiling panel where the Burmester 3D speaker is. My stereo/radar detector guy can fix, but he won't touch it until the dealer gives it a shot so I have a paper trail and an argument to either get the repair covered or some deal on future service. It is a significant issue and there are several long threads on the C class forum here regarding the issue. MB even had a TSB advising for a new design speaker clip on those models. This is not a bass rattle, more in the midrange. Even talk radio with male voices. Not that I listen to that. If anyone has the issue, download any of the free frequency generator apps on the google or apple store. Bluetooth stream the tone to the stereo and sweep the HZ. You will see what I mean!
Here is a YouTube vid from a C class owner. This is the exact issue with mine.

I will likely have my guy dynomat and goop all panels in September. Spending a few hundred here is not that big a deal. My all in, after insulating (assuming I can't get MB to foot some of it), of about $2200 for the Burmester 3D is a bargain compared to the cost of an aftermarket high end integrated system. Remember, mine is a lease.....
I have to reiterate, the stereo is insane and I am very happy with it in most cases. It just needs a tweak.... It is that good.
The issue is not the center channel. It is mostly the door panels. I have run the tone generator. It is easy to hear what is buzzing. Therefore easy to fix, IMO.
