Drag day with e63s
Hi all. I went for drag racing today to check numbers before tune.
Not bad for 5600lbs sedan. Will see after stage1 tune

Thanks for sharing your results. Good baseline. Which tune are you planning on installing?

Our DA is typically ~3200 on a good day. W213 E63s run low 122-123, sometimes 124 if DA dips under 3k.
I like to know how much difference tune makes and if there is any added benefit to downpipes over the tune.

So it looks like the way to go is race mode traction control on, that got you a 11.35. Did you do a Race Start where you hold down the brake and gas at the same time? If not those are darn good times and I'd think if you did that you'd be closer to a 11.1. Is the car Stock?

I am curious how this works with track rules. When I used to race at the drag strip in college cars weren't able to run in the 11s without a roll bar and a fire suit. It appears that my local track has lowered the time to 11.5. If cars are faster then 11.5 they want roll bars and a drivers jacket. These cars stock are capable of much faster times then 11.5.

All runs were with launch control start of course.
Yeah, 1st and 4th runs are just in Race mode.
2nd run is RACE + traction was completely off
3rd run is RACE + comfort mode for suspension.
btw MPS4s isn't good with a glue and here is my best 0-60 time even I did 3.33 without glue before.
Here are videos from best run. Same run just was too lazy to edit that...
It was TT class that's why CIvic was there )))))

the first video it looks like that track is on a downhill slope, is it really downhill or is that an optical illusion.
less than 10 second ET, 140mph or more trap speed they will tell you to slow down. A lot of times they won't say anything

I don't know exactly since that was my 1st drag strip day, but as far as I know, if your car can run faster than 10s you should have a rollbar. But there was a GT-R who was at 9.8 or so and I believe he doesn't have a roll bar. They told me if my car can run faster than 13.99 I have to wear a helmet... nothing else.
That's right, the car is full stock (only spacers and lowering module).
All runs were with launch control start of course.

Time for the tune my friend! As you well know, my "almost identical car" can clobber that time without track prep and on undulating surfaces--your car is merely waiting for more "0111000001101111011101110110010101110010" // and, yes, for the geeks amongst you, there is meaning in that apparently random string of BITS
Regardless, thanks for getting us some numbers and some Dragy comparos which ultimately makes it yet easier still to get numbers others will ack as legitimate!

This appears to be in Seattle/Kent, WA. DA would have been around 1000 or less. The earlier the run, the better the DA.

The da was 671 at 11:53 a.m., the first time slip recorded 11:02 a.m. (edited because initially I read p.m. by accident)

I wonder how much the Race Start is worth. I have not done a race start on my car and not really planning on it as it beats up on the car. I'd think maybe 2/10's maybe 3/10's so without it I guess I'd be like an 11.5 or 11.6. That is still plenty fast enough as far as I'm concerned. Plus I drive with hand controls so I'd have a hard time holding the throttle and the brake at the same time.

Embracing my near-infinite generosity, just let me know where you live, we can grab a beer or two and I'll race start your beast repeatedly for you when I'm in Orlando next month

2008 cars and newer going 10.00 et or 135 mph and slower does not need a roll bar. New NHRA rules.
