Lighting package. Worth it?

Curious if anyone has compared the standard LED lights to the LED's in the lighting package. I'm coming across some builds that don't have it and curious if it's a must-have, or something that if you didn't have it, you wouldn't know the difference. The LED's in my W212 are just fine and if they are like those, than I would be fine with it.

It was a must have for me. It's the LED array system from Europe with the local dimming turned off (I'm curious if it could be reactivated through coding). During startup the LED's "sweep", which is a cool effect. In other markets, when the high beams are on it just makes a "hole" in the light where the other car is, instead of turning the high beams completely off. We at least get the effects like, the high beams turning on in the middle first then progressively lighting to the outside like a curtain opening, if another car comes into view while it's "opening" it closes like someone closed the curtain on the high beams. You also don't get the "crystal effect" taillights without it. Also, no adaptive-high beams without it. And you're talking about an option that's 1.4% of base MSRP that adds functionality that should be standard. Also, don't skip the "Premium Package" which adds things that are standard on Honda Civics now like adaptive cruise, blind spot detection, surround camera, emergency collision avoidance braking, etc.

If I were ordering new, it's a no-brainer for me. I'm just looking at some pre-owned builds and trying to figure if I can live without some options like lighting, seat massage, etc.

I have never had a chance to contrast the two. Mine has the advance lighting package. Even with the brain damaged US limitation on the partial dimming, it's still way better than any other car I own.

+1. If ordering new, select it. If not, def not a must have.

Not must especially if you don't live in a remote area without much public lighting. The standard LED is light years much better then any technology we had before.
