MY19 Launch Schedule

The answer is simple: if you can’t deliver on a promise, don’t. My store is a small store. They don’t have many wagon allocations. For one to show up should trigger someone saying “oh, that must be a customer order... let’s check” and they’d see the notes in NS saying to not even look at my car.
Worse, another tech already made a Facebook post using pics of my car as a kind of for sale advertisement. Dude. It’s mine. Not yours. I get to post it. Not you.
I hope it it all works out.
Some background info on how crazy I am (or used to be- I’ve loosened up)- I once slept overnight across the street from the Porsche dealer when the 996 turbo debuted and hit the ground in July, 2000. I didn’t want anybody at the dealer going for a joy ride in my car, which is a thing that was talked about and in many cases done with that model. The 996 turbo was the most highly anticipated regular road-going production automobile of all time, and I feel very strongly that the 996 turbo introduction still holds that prestige. I was sure to see the thing arrive via truck and stay with it every moment. I even rode with the mechanic to the gas station. The car never left my sight. I made that deal with them in advance, and we all laughed about my thoroughness for years.

After reading your previous response to me and this one... I understand better your frustration. In a small store this should be avoided. I also understand that you do not want to go around the same circle as with your previous experience.
I hope it it all works out.

Between the Facebook post and uncertainty regarding the wash, the excitement is just gone completely. I keep telling myself I don’t want this car any more.

No small flakes of metallic silver in the obsidian. They mostly don't show up in pictures but your eye can see pretty easily. Even if you go to the build section of the MBUSA website, hard to tell the difference in the picture.

I was curious to see how it would work with an Xpel Steatlh. I am going to wrap mine in obsidian black, and the silver snow flakes show thru the PPF and i like the result. but would like to compare to the standard black and see how the satin finish would like.

I spoke with my SA today - everything appears to be in order, when he asked the tech about the PPI and how awesome the car was the tech's response was kind of "meh". I guess these guys are just numb to these sleepers (wagons in particular).
Looks like Ill be getting my transport from dealer to PPF place, 2 years ppd maintenance (does this cover the rear diff change at 1600?) and a sweet AMG keychain!

Hello,
I am supposed to pick mine up this week in Northern NJ. I wanted to see just how bad the existing Michelin tires will be, especially if it snows Friday and found this:
The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.
Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.
If this is true, How can the dealer release this vehicle to me in the NJ Winter?
I will ask.

go fast grocery getter wagon
those high performance summers would be like hockey puck and you won't have the required traction to stop properly and safely, IMO.
I would hate to see your brand new car result in any accident. just my 2 cents.

This is why I negotiated covered transport to my home from the dealer 600 miles away in a covered transport. I would NOT drive it any distance. I have snows sitting in my garage for the new baby when she gets home.

I would adhere to the manufacture's recommendation - They will be stiff as rocks and you will destroy the tire if you drive on it for any distance.

on Monday it’s gonna be -7 C. So then I guess I walk to work.
OK I’m disappointed that my dealer didn’t let me know that Winter/all seasons tires are Mandatory.
I looked on the MB site. They have 2018 winter 19” setup listed. Ill ask the winter tire threaders on this forum.
Anyone picking up there E63S in the cold climates be aware of this actual danger.
Cheers

Dealers don’t care. What do you think Ferrari and Porsche dealers do in the winter time? Not deliver Ferrari’s and Maseratis?
Ask dealers why they talk to each other about pricing. That’s called violation of anti-trust law.
When it it comes to retail car dealers, laws and rules don’t matter much.

Now why the heck would my dealer let me drive the car off the lot and ruin the tires before I get home, and possibly put my safety at risk.

I ordered my all seasons from tirerack and had them shipped directly to my dealer for install before I take delivery hopefully next week. They will ship the performance tires back home for me.

Has anyone got their car from VPC Baltimore yet? Mine has been released, but the SA has no time table of when it will be delivered. It has been there since August 10th, probably stuck in the back. If it doesn't come in the next two weeks, may not be able to get it until January with my schedule and the holidays. Is there anyone who can check if this car is in transit or has a ETA for delivery. Here is my VIN # WDDZF8KB1KA509021.
Thanks
