iPhone Wireless Charging
One issue we had with my wife's iPhone 8+ is that her case had one of those magnet clips on the back. It didn't like that in the charger. She had to remove the phone from the case to get it to work.
One other issue that might be causing a problem is that both the 8+ and the Xs are a little too long for the space in the charging pad and the phone doesn't sit flat. Sometimes you need to make sure it is in there just right before it starts to charge. If your case is a little oversize, that might be enough to make the charging intermittent as the phone's already too big.
Does anyone know if the XS Max and XR fit?

My XS Max fits perfectly with the case on, which is great because it would not fit in the M5 I test drove during the long wait.

But my phone is still not charging...with and without case...ugh. An early iPhone X. Maybe a known issue?
There is a little lip at the rear of the charging pad that holds up the end of the phone regardless of whether the cupholder is in there or not. The rear of the phone sits about a quarter of an inch above the pad. Seems to work fine though. Probably makes it easier to pick the phone up out of the charging pad area too.

Initially when I ordered the car, the wireless charging feature was not an option if the CF center console was spec'ed. I was pleasantly surprised to arrive in Germany to pick up the car and discover that it had gotten the refresh which included the wireless charging as well as the Track Pace app and the additional LED lighting colors.
The only thing that it appears I lost out on was that the move of the Cig Lighter plug from the inside of the center console to the front passenger left knee area didn't happen yet on my car. So I only have one 12 VDC plug, which is on the rear center console next to the 120 VAC outlet. Makes powering the radar detector and other front mounted accessories a bit of a pain. But I hard wired the radar detector to the fuse panel near the front passenger right foot area.
