Weistec air filters and VTA adaptors
Installed Weistec filters and VTA adaptors yesterday. For the money and ease of installation, the sound alone from the blow off valves is well worth it. The cars make some of the best sounds running stock, and this is just an even more exciting addition. As for the filters, everyone has an opinion, but after removing and looking at the oem filters, MB clearly has restricted the airflow, and these should improve breathing!

Just had my Weistec VTA's, filters and exhaust turn up at the shop. Just waiting on the turbo's and we're good for the next round. Glad to hear you like the sound of the VTA's, I was nervous it would seem too "ricer"

No they sound very very different than the typical WRX sounds.... but they definitely get your attention! I’ll get some video/sound clips up this week.

Installation
How easy are these to install on your own? I don't really have much experience with working on cars, and if simple may get these filters. Also interested in how the VTAs sound and how easy they were to install. Thanks.

Do you guys know if there is a difference between the Renntech and the Weistec adapters? There's about a $150 difference but both look the same? Did you guys install yourself or have a shop do it?

Do any of you know about PTG? My go to shop in Dallas mentioned these and offered a price better than Weistec and Renntech. Do you any of you know anything about these or should I just stick to Weistec (which come in an awesome red color)?
here is the Weistec:

Yeah definitely agree about that but care more about the quality and sound - dont know anything about PTG and see that Weistic has those slits while the PTG dont. Sorry don't know too much about blow off valves.
Thanks in advance!

The VTA’s are three torx removals and about 10 minutes each. Very simple. The filters aren’t hard, but it takes a bit to remove a few pieces and change them out. The screws in the rear of the airbox are the most difficult to get to. But just take your time and keep at it and it takes about an hour.

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me if these BOV adapters will fit on the W213 E300 2.0L? I’m really looking to add some under the hood sound, after I got my dyno tune I’d like the car to sound a little bit sportier too. TIA

The C63 parts are USD$149.99, plus tax, plus shipping for a pair.

Just wanted to revive this thread to not have to start a new one, but these renntech vta cannot negatively affect the car mechanically in any way as I assume they're past the electronic diverter valve just like in the c63s? I'd imagine they're literally just dumping the air into the engine bay that would be recycled into the air box? Ive heard from someone that his e63 couldn't hold boost and was losing power on launch when he had his, but I can't imagine that being possible.

All the VTAs are the same, they just vent to air the recirculating pressure. There is no loss of power or issues, I run the weistec VTAs on my car, but you can't go wrong with any brand it's a simple piece of milled aluminum.
