I have not done the delete. My car has catless downpipes and is plenty loud enough for me. I'm doing the awe upgrade because my mufflers have sticky flaps, which causes the 4k rpm boost issue intermittently. Stock mufflers are 1800 usd each, which is ridiculous, and they will continue to fail. Giving awe a shot...in hope of finding a better valve design there. And the sound is quite nice too.

Well I'll be damned, On the C63s the standard exhaust cannot bypass the mufflers. Why does the E63s sounds so different and louder with the performance exhaust then?

So with the PE, when the switch is activated to open, that just closes the front valve in the H-pipe section? Only switching to S+ or race mode opens the muffler flaps? Or does activating the switch open both?

Curious about the process of lease returns with MB. Do you think they put the car on a lift to inspect the undercarriage? Worried about getting dinged for a whole new set of exhaust pipes if they notice the mod when I return the car.

I know this is an old thread, but one most relevant when doing searches. Did you ever remove the H pipe at the front and did it make the small difference you were looking for?
I would love the performance sound and don’t particularly care about the small increase in sound permanently.
