Gt63s USA base price 160k

If those cars are actually bought, they will be on the used car market in less than 6 months. Most of those buyers will most likely not be enthusiasts who will usually learn the differences between cars

I just checked with my dealer, the entire 2019 build slots are sold out. First availability is sometime in 2020, probably as a 2021 model. That's crazy.

I strongly agree with this
You can tell Mercedes intentionally watered down the CLS so that the GT63 can shine. and I dont know how I feel about that. I love the GT63 but the price doesnt make sense and I dont like how they downgraded the CLS
with that being said in 5-6 years I will probably get a GT63 when depreciation hits big time itll be a great car for the price. I would definitely skip the CLS53 altogether. the E53 coupe looks nice though

go fast grocery getter wagon
... that's probably because each dealer gets like <10 allocation per year.
I recalled when I ordered my wagon, each dealer (in Canada) gets < 20 per year in the first year production. One year after my wagon has been delivered, I have seen only 1 wagon and 3 sedans in my daily drive ... that's pretty rare. I am sure the GT would be like a unicorn once it started delivery.

I have only seen 3 sedans since release and 0 wagons, and my commute is from Queens NY to Uniondale NY.

Anecdotally, I would assume production, at least until they have a firm idea on actual demand, will be tepid. Also, I'm going to assume most of the people putting deposits down or being on the list have been there long before the prices were released this week. In which case, brace for a decent number of those deposits to be withdrawn. Mercedes bean counters aren't idiots, they know a $160-200k sedan is a niche of a niche and that almost everyone except customers with hundreds of thousands of annual disposable income (or are willing to stretch their finances) will be satisfied with a M5/M6 GranCoupe, RS7, E63, etc. for 2/3rds the price. And, if they notice an appreciable number of prior CLS owners not returning for the GT, they may even reintroduce the CLS63...but that's a long shot because it would expose how blatantly they are inflating the GT 4-door margins.
All 3 (I am #4 for GT63 ED1), bought the Maybach S650 Cab without hesitation (nothing more then a re-badged S65 Cab, with $80k premium), they don't even think the way we do and are not even considering facts like which car or model may be a better value, they just get what they want....
I am strongly considering going to another dealer to improve my chances of getting the car this Spring but I still hesitate since I really cherish my relationship with their service people, no need to make any appointments, just drop by whenever I want or need and they always have a car for me to use, even if they have to take one from the new inventory, never anything less then E550 or better.

Was going to order until I saw the price. Not good enough at that price. Interior is too similar to the e/cls class, the only difference is the center console. The back is really ugly imo. Why not just get the s63 for the same price, it's a better car for the money and you're not going to track. Going to wait for the audi rs7 and bmw m8 gran coupe. This car is just not worth it for the price unless you have a lot of money to waste

That's nuts. Dealer here in Orlando asking msrp....sat in one, heard it revved and driven. Didn't drive it, as we were at an amg car night and I was chillin. Looks cool from the outside, and interior is nice too. It is the most attractive of that style vehicle, imo, but not worth the premium just yet.

Agreed. It’s not made of unobtanium. An SLS AMG black it ain’t. It’s a hard sell at sticker if you ask me otherwise all those would have been presold imo.

Small chance of that happening at my dealer (cancelled orders), the guys ahead of me just buy anything that comes as long as it appears "special" or limited or desirable.

Played around in one. I like the styling compared to the Panamera turbo. I love the aero package, but not the fixed wing that comes with it.
The interior is just not worth the price of admission, Panamera is much better. Not that its bad, it's just a digitalized version of the E with a larger center console.
Didn't get to drive, but from what I've read, it's has the E63s handling abilities with a ~E300 ride quality. That makes me wanna give this a chance......

Whattt, my dealer is selling them at sticker. No premium, and they have 2 in stock and one in magno blue that is already sold. I got a chance to check out all 3 of them. I just confirmed it with my Sales guy.

How was the matte blue? My guy has one coming in any day now, and it's not spoken for. Looks nice in pics.

My dealer has one on the showroom. He was showing my wife how easy it was to fit a car seat as if I just got out of the S7 to get into another 4 door coup!! Happy with my wagon. They weren’t asking for a markup and I’m sure they’d be willing to take some off the top end.
