Anyone running r888r's?

Anyone running Toyo r888r's at all four corners? What sizes? If I go this route these would be mounted on stock wheels for straight line racing only...1/4 mile, half mile, etc.

Thinking 285/30/20 and 255/35/20

I have a friend who will be running those, let me ask him for you. I think he will run those on his 20s multispoke wheels.

Okay, I found out they are only good for straight line, and are kinda loud on the road and pretty much are not good for cornering.

Yeah. These will be for straight line racing only. When not at the track, I'll run my 21s.

I have them for rears only on w212. Just 2 tires are loud, sounds like a whirring motor. Picked up extended family at the airport visiting from UK and I did not have time to switch to street tires. They thought something was wrong with the car.

they hold good on a prepped track. You can still fishtail on the street. I'm happy with them for quarter mile.

I've never used them before, but I did check out a youtube vid this morning, and you can hear the whirring even in the video...pretty loud. Thx for the feedback; might give them a shot...thinking through it now.

Since you can’t do a burnout you might want to invest in some tire warmers. Might be a lot of wasted potential (and money) otherwise.

That's a good point man; pretty soon I'm gonna need a race team to help. Or, I could just cut out this nonsense. lol.

Can you at least warm up the rears in drift mode?

Though you did say that the rears weren't really the issue, so moot point I guess.

Tire warmers can make a huuge difference. At least they did on my track bike back when I was road racing. Difference is like night and day.

Lol, I hear ya! I think with proper tires and tire warmers you could set a benchmark for 60ft times!

great tire.. I used them before on a Lotus.. also the RA1 and reg R888's... but honestly the Mich 4S is a great tire if your E63 has em.. Conti's are pretty good also

btw.. all those Toyo tires have a lot of road roise, still aquaplane some and will follow the ridges in the road (tramline)

Thx very much for the feedback. I'll probably order a set in the next few weeks. And I agree the ps4s is a great tire. I have those and PSS for street use....they are great in all Florida conditions, but traction is an issue when driving the car above 70%.

Even Florida rain?

My Pirelli P Zeros are bald and I'm afraid to do above 60mph on the highway when it rains :P But maybe that's my own fault lol

Yeah bud....ps4s and pss both function well in the rain. Ps4s are supposed to be superior but I like both.

I ran Michelin PS4S in the cold and they are really good. Even in 30 degree weather with rain I was surprised how well they did.

Installed adjustable camber arms up front last week. Also put the r888rs on my 20s. Sizes are in original post, and they fit great and look super meaty. Car is way out of alignment so haven't gotten on it too hard. However, initial impression is wow, these tires hook all the time every time. My ps4s and pss are nowhere near this good. They do hum, however, but it's not awful.

Will post more when car is aligned.
