Wow, great information. I can't believe this is the first I am hearing of this. I am looking for a pre-owned 2018 and I would be pissed if I got the older electronics. Do you know when it switched to the newer electronics? So the launch edition has the old electronics...WTF?

Keep in mind that the launch of the 2018 E63s was completely hosed due to delays with the EPA certifications. Same as the launch of the AMG GTR. Some of these cars have been sitting at VPC for 9 months+
Nobody would have complained about a difference in builds if one car was delivered in April and another in December. But since all cars were held up until November or so, people got different builds of cars at the same time...
I would look for August later builds on a 2018 E63s. Check on NFC, interior LED and Drive Dynamics screens. You'll know within a minute.
That said, I couldn't care less. Today I would take our Edition 1 over a 2019 any day of the week. At this point the Night Black Magno is my fav on the E

We had discussed this in prior threads. Ours is an April built (Edition 1) and we have the older modules. To be clear, there is no visual difference. You can only tell by going through the menus. When looking at a pre-owned one, there was also a lack of the NFC charging pads with some option combination. I think, some CF interiors didn't get NFC while others did (at least for a period).

Some time before Oct 2017. My car had the new electronics. Some who's cars were built a six weeks to a couple months earlier did not get the updates.
However, there was at least one change that my car did not get that came along a month or so later. I only have one 12 VDC outlet in the car, the rear one. My car has CF center console and did get the wireless charging, which in the DOG at the time was not an option. The 12 VDC jack in the center console was moved to make that happen. In later cars it was relocated to somewhere near the left knee of the front passenger. It's nowhere to be found in my car.

Thank you! So anything Say 10/17 + should be good?
