Anyone ever driven a 918 or P1 on track? I have and they're drained within 20 minutes. Buy the 213 while you can, everything that's following will be heavy and optimised for emissions not pleasure

Top out on autobahn, a stock E400 W212 does about 180 with the speed limiter disabled, otherwise the it pegs the standard 155 (250kph) at the 5600 in 5th gear. It will cruise for as long as there is room, BTW, the E400 motor always made ~360hp not 333 as advertised, Several cars all dyno'd at about 360 in Germany. One of those not so secret secrets. (I drove on until this year)
The electric motors/battery concepts are quite innovate and are mainly intended to power cars intercity where internal combustion engines are rapidly being outright banned, SO entering the zone the car runs electric for a couple miles to your meeting or office and back out again, It also makes start/stop absolutely seamless, The whole package is a road going version of KERS developed in F! and it also just happens to aid in pulling onto the autobahn.

The horses are now in the barn, 2019 E63s
I've seen Youtube reviews of the the 2021 GLS 63 which has EQ Boost and is clocking a 4.1sec 0-60 for a nearly 3 ton vehicle. Several reviews report about a 30+ HP gain and 180+ lbft gain in torque from the EQ system. It's def F1 technology and probably just supplements the engine during initial spool-up (which is the opposite of F1 tech). I find it hard to accept that the supplemental EQ numbers or anything more than that, supplemental, but reviews always remark that the engine puts out 800+ lbft of TQ. I don't think that's correct.

All I can say is that the EQ Boost system in my E53 is absolutely seamless. As far as I recall, it adds about 29 HP and about 180+ FT-LBs of torque.
You really feel all that additional torque leaving the line.
The start/stop feature works well, it is only available in Eco or Comfort modes. (Never tried ECO mode, myself) It is easily defeatable though through a button on the console. In Sport and SportPlus it is unavailable.
I was skeptical about this setup when I was still looking at vehicles, but after test driving it a few times I was quite impressed with it. Also after much reading in the automotive press, this approach really seems to be the wave of the future. Whether we like it on not. It may be the least of all possible evils.
