You might want to consider AMR too. Great customer service and tuner!

In terns of tuning it all boils down to who you can communicate with the best. We use EC for our tuning needs.

There's some information online pertaining to tuning W213s yourself for nearly free, if you are a risky kind of guy
Just get a USB -> CAN device for $30 from https://store.protofusion.org/product/canable/, then get a OBD-II female -> pigtail connector for $13 from
Connect the two (CAN high + CAN low), plug the device into your laptop + car, look online for a UDS flasher (hint hint hint, I know a guy who wrote one as free open source software), tune a map you can get for $99 from any WinOLS reseller online.
All you need is the seed/key algorithm for the UDS SecurityAccess request for the MED1775 ECU.
Bam, $99 tune by reputable company who tune tons and tons of German cars at high volume, not $2k tune.

I've worked with each of your options...all good results and good people. Kevin did my w212, w213, and will likely do my m5 at some point too...he's super talented and just a good dude.

How are you going to get your car on a lift and "weld" cut the stock downpipes?

Luckily I own a gas station with a few friends and it has its own shop, so I will take it and do it myself on the weekend when the shop is closed. I am pretty good with welding and stuff since I used to be a FFA Aircraft tech.
