Probably late October to November. However, a refresh is not expected until the 2021 model.

I have a wagon on order since May for European Delivery in October, and they tell me they won’t start production until 10/30. MB is lending me a car to use for our trip since it won’t be ready.

I also have a MY20 wagon on order for ED since late April, with a delivery date of October 31.

I'm being told my car will be ready - they say it's being built tomorrow - 9/17.

Wow, that’s exciting to know. My pick up date is 10/9, and they tell me the car will be built, but not available to pick up. Maybe they meant to say the release date is 10/30. In any case, I am getting a loaner car to use while in Germany. I have a business trip planned for that time, and that’s why I can’t move the pick up date back.

They send the car car to the US dealer with all the discounts, plates, etc, but with none of my miles.

I initially had my ED scheduled in October 2017, but it ended up being moved to Nov 6 in part due to Mercedes closing the factory for training during one of the target weeks and because my work schedule couldn't accommodate it. My car was built on 10/10/17.

A month later when Parker (Vehicle Virgins) went to pick up his car he was told it wasn't ready. I think in his case it was a parts shortage, maybe for CCBs, don't remember exactly.

So, stuff happens. It's been a while but I think they still hadn't released the US cars from the VPCs that had been sitting all summer. I remember being really hopeful that the emissions issue would clear and that I'd have my car in time for Christmas.

While the US cars did get released, my car spent Christmas and New Years at the VPC and didn't end up getting released till the end of January. In my case, it took a bit of extra time since they had to replace the windshield due to a rock chip that happened on the autobahn the last night we had the car, and from a fender scuff where someone apparently bumped me in a parking lot. I must say, the VPC in Baltimore did really good work. It isn't clear whether they replaced the whole left front fender or somehow repaired the original one, but it is absolutely perfect and was worth the wait.

I am curious, do you think those repairs would show up on a Carfax? Hopefully no.

No. The VPC does these kind of repairs all the time. Cars get bumped or banged during the shipment process from the factory to the US and get touched up at the VPC. These then arrive at the dealer as new, not repaired.

I was told during the factory tour that the VPCs have full blown body shop capabilities rivaling the factory. Didn't know at the time I'd be using them, but I'd have to say I agree this is true seeing the quality of the work performed.

My wagon was built near the end of August and is on a boat (the Genuine Ace) as we speak. Looking for an October delivery

My dealer showed me the build date, then told me when it was shipped and on what boat. I have asked him to let me know when the car hits certain milestones (build date, ship date, ship name, arrival at VPC, etc)

Once you know the ship name you can use a vessel tracker website to watch it sail this way. Mine should be arriving on the east coast by tomorrow, then I'm not sure if it will be trucked across country, or if the ship will continue to the west coast to me.

In his case it was some error on the AMG steel brakes, my car was on hold from november 2017 until february 2018 for the same reason..

If you are west coast expect at least another 2-3 weeks as it hits several ports along the way through the Panama Canal and then the Long Beach vpc.

If you read my other post it appears we will most likely not get our cars till november. My car has been at the vpc since 8/22 - built 7/17. Mine is a wagon too and I was told they have no set date but the current release schedule shows mid Q4 so that’s November.

Sorry I meant it was built at the end of August, not September. Doesn't change what you reported however, and I don't expect to see it before early November.

I have a pick up date for ED of NOV 5th - they say my car is already built, but I did order it back in March and the dealer had to trade one of his later allocations for an earlier one for me.

Counting down the days! No CCBs for me..

What color combination did you choose?

My dealer was all excited about ordering the car, but they tell me they don’t know the VIN or the build date on my car yet. It was ordered back in May and I have the order number from MB, but nothing else.

I ordered obsidian black with black interior and black multispoke. Triple Black! I plan to change wheels and do a stealth PPF on it. Going to put snow tires on the stock wheels for trips to mammoth and big bear during the winter.

This sounds a little funny, as I don't believe October build slots yet existed for assignment in May.

In any case, I uploaded a clipping of a document my dealer sends me, at my request, regarding my order that tracks the build date assignment and production:

I forget the name of the computer system they use to track these, but it's an easy thing for them to print and scan you the order status of your car. Have them do it for you today, so you at least can confirm the build slot.

I am going to ask him. I didn’t get the conformation Of the build until sometime in July.

Beautiful!! Congrats.

I am in South Florida and couldn’t do that. It would be a killer down here with the heat in the summer. Besides, we have a Black E class sedan at home already. I went Blue with the Macchiato interior. And the silver multispokes.

Ah got it, that makes sense then...a batch of September slots were available in June, which lines up with October in July.

Are you guys getting any deals on 2020 from your dealers? I was offered pretty decent deal on 2019 but car is missing some of the options I would like to have. Was thinking of placing an order for 2020 but dealer won’t sell under msrp.

Nice - also went with the beige interior and silver cross-spokes. Thought hard about the Blue but went for the Selenite Grey metallic.
Spent the last 9 years in a black-on-black 6MT Cayenne GTS and was looking for a lighter setup.
Also plan winter tire swap on stock wheels - for Tahoe/Bachelor.

Just standard ED 5% + destination waiver (~$1k) for me, but I didn't push.
