i parked my car at the bar for 2 hours + somebody ripped the spoiler off of my trunk

i took my car to the "collision center" (some guy in his 20s with an iphone earbud in one of his ears at his desk browsing youtube i'm sure) at my local mercedes autonation dealer and he comes outside to look at the car and says
"we're gonna need to take off all of your AMG/mercedes badges because mercedes seems them as one time use while we do the repair"
needless to say, i chose to go with a different shop...
i think he was even talking about taking off my side badges (the ones that say biturbo) in order to fix my trunk spoiler... maybe i misunderstood

it was at the "free spoiler removal shop" as far as i'm concerned
the people who did it (could be guys, could be girls, could be transgenders, who knows these days) were very courteous to only leave a dozen smudges, could have been worse, could have been two dozen
could have pissed their name on the windshield, slashed my tires, smashed my windows, keyed it, who knows
guess i was just at the wrong place at the wrong time with too nice of a car

Damn bro, sorry to hear this. I gotta give you props for keeping your cool. I would of completely flipped out, would have gotten the video from security camera and just would of made every single phone to every single connect I can lol.

i filed a police report just to be cool with my insurance for the claim (i have a $50 comprehensive deductible for times like this)
the cop was like "do you want to press charges in case we find who did it, it would be a felony since it's probably between $1k - $1.5k in damages (probably a little high of an estimate, i thought they had crowbarred the trunk trying to steal whatever was inside)"
i can't imagine living in a world where i see out of my own two eyes and i think "random people stole my spoiler lip at 12am? i'm sure they'll be found and brought to justice!"
but he was very nice and i am grateful for that, and i'm grateful for this community that can feel my first world pain with me

Sucks for sure but my guess is you will find it on Craigs list, or ebay or on the back of a honda in your city.
Good luck should be simple fix - clean off double sided tape and then clean up area and use grease/wax remover and stick on another painted to match...
Or now is time for Carbin Fiber look if you like that

That's one of the reasons, I "debadged" my E53 convertible. It's an option, if you order the car, but when I saw the car at my detailer, after he did the paint correction, Expel, and ceramic, I told him to leave the badges off. As far as anyone knows, i's just a MB convertible, hard to tell the C from the E, unless they're next to each other. The only give away, are the quad exhaust tips. I'm good with stealth, I know what I have!!!

i drove by the soccer park and this guy had a burn-your-eyes lime green mclaren 720s, that's flashy
i parked behind a restaurant and some bored hoodlum thugs took my spoiler. maybe they're smoking crack off of it or drilling it up their boyfriend's you know whats, what am i gonna do? put a car cover over my car. i'll put a honda badge on it, surely nobody will steal anything from me then

Sorry to hear. I hate parking my AMG anywhere. 7 weeks ago came out of my office to find the nose sheared off my new Vette by a monster pickup. The vape smoker did'nt run.

Wow, sorry that happened. Had a friend who also took his 2018 GTR to a bar. Some guy got drunk and decided it would be fun to bash in his new ( it happened last year ) rear windshield GTR. My friend didn’t know the guy, never even saw or talk to that guy. This happened because the bouncer kicked him out and he did bashed the windshield right in front of the bouncer. Cops called and the guy was arrested.
Lesson learned from my friend. You take a Uber to a bar if you want to have a good time or just have a BBQ at home with family and friends. You take a nice car to a bar where people are drinking and getting rowdy, expect someone to do something stupid.
