Dash Cams
Has anyone here successfully installed a dash + rear cam that records while parked via battery backup? What does that install look like, and do you have any tips I should keep in mind as I try to find a solution for my wagon?
Previous threads on this subject veered towards radar detector arguments, and I could not find much regarding actual installations of cameras.
...I just had a thought to go search the non-AMG w213 forum, which I'll do now and update this thread if I find something helpful.

I had my C63S dash cam which I installed myself moved to my E63S but I didn't do it myself as I did in the C63S so I cant tell you. But with just a button on my battery saver sensor module I can leave it on while parked too and it will record if it detects motion. It will turn of when my battery goes to under 12v and have had it on for a week with car getting used regularly and nothing happed. Its hard wired into the car and records front and rear. I have this one [ Blackvue-750S 2CH ] with the Power Magic Pro hard wire kit.

I have been running these for years.
I have a Blackvue DR900 setup with a battery and it works like a charm. Rear camera needs a bit of a set off from the roof liner to accommodate the rear sunshade but that’s it. I have the front camera mounted just underneath the rear view mirror on the front windshield and while driving it is invisible. It works so well that once at a track day my GoPro crapped out I pulled the footage from the dashcam. Definitely get the matching BlackVue battery it really works well and generally offers me about 24 hours of recording while the car is off.

I have the Blackvue as well. I can't have a rear facing camera, as I have a convertible. When the MB dealer mishandled my car, I went to the dash cam, no question after that!!!!

Same here but I went from that "magic box" (BlackVue named) that helps to works camera under parking by using car's battery cause I had an issue with a remote start when the voltage was too low car simply did not start remotely. I bought a small battery and put it into the trunk and it's enough to cover up to 8h parking mode footage if the battery is fully charged.

Not sure if you guys are aware, but there are inexpensive 4K dash cams with parking monitor that don't drain the battery ...

Also, I was need 2 cameras without a display on it and the ability to have remote access if camera is online. And a cloud of course.
No one pushing to buy expensive or cheap dashcam it's personal preferences as many people prefer to drive $500 sh*tboxes.

Not a great look to it, but unless you get an OEM slick installation like the modern back-up camera, it's hard to see an after-market device being much more subtle.
Any thoughts?
