But, to their credit, I didn't have the windshield sticker so maybe that's a better indicator than the manual.
My manual states that it is recommended to change the differential oil at 2000 miles. The prepaid 30000 mile service contract states that the 2000 mile oil change is required. So, since the written word is better than a verbal statement, I opted to change the oil at 2000 miles. I was not charged for the service. I examined the oil being removed and the fresh oil being replaced and the new oil did not have a dark color as did the oil being removed. If MBNA states in writing that the 2021 AMG manual is incorrect, then you're home free. Otherwise, caveat emptor.

Thanks. Good observation on the oil. I'll ask what it costs to change the diff oil if I so choose to do it. I didn't prepay the maintenance but I think I still have the opportunity to do it. Do you find that the prepay is a good value? I guess I'll find out when I get the estimate to change the diff oil. I am sure the Service A and B are not cheap for the E63s.

I have the prepaid 2 year plan and it includes the 2000 mile diff fluid change.

I just went through this myself so...

Set aside the fact that there are different pre-paid maintenance packages sold at MB dealers across the country, the bona fide MB pre-paid maintenance package (which you seem to be talking about) will not cover the 2k differential change on some 2019 and all 2020+ plus cars. It's not on the service bulletin your SA has to pull (via your VIN) to get the credit from MB. See attached pic. Some 2019 and all 2020+ cars do not require the rear diff fluid change until 3yr/30k miles.

What may happen though, is your dealer may (should?) pay for it out of pocket because you were likely shown outdated literature (like I was) when paying for the package.

And just as some extra info, the front diff fluid is "life-time" fluid and has no service interval, and should only be changed if there's a repair or leak at the front diff.

I just got back from visiting another dealership and the SA said the same thing and printed the service sheet for my VIN which said no need to change the diff oil until 30k. I can change if I want peace of mind but it would be out of pocket and in his opinion an unnecessary expense. That’s the first time I’ve had them talk me out of spending more money on service.

I just called my servicing dealership and yes my maintenance plan includes the 2000 mile change. It's a shame there is so much confusion about needing it or not. Since it is included I will get it done, it can't hurt anything.

If it's included, I agree, it can't hurt and gives you peace of mind. I'm going to look into a prepaid maintenance package and see if this is included. I declined all the extended warranties, paint protection, ding repair, prepaid maintenance, and other add ons they bombard you with at the dealership because i just wanted to get out of there.

Our '20 didn't call for a 2000 mile change, but I chose not to wait until 30k. Like HBerman said, the fluid was dark.
