Does anyone here run 305/30/20 and 275/35/20 on stock 20" rims?

I know they fit but was wondering how Michelin 4s perform in this size. Thanks

These tire sizes fit on stock wheels without rubbing? It’s almost time for me to get new tires. What if you use the lowering module? Do they still clear?

You will not have any issues with them fitting and not rubbing. 305 on a 10” I wouldn’t advise though.

The horses are now in the barn, 2019 E63s
There's no question a lot of MB/AMG R&D was put into selecting the ideal wheel/tire combo to maximize performance and economy in this car so the next question that comes to mind for me is "what the best whee/tire combo is for max handling performance?

I'm already considering the next wheels and tires for my as yet delivered 2020 E63s and the old school in me wants to see more width on the back end for that little increase in aggressive appearance. I have read on another thread (I believe it was this or the W212 AMG forum) that another memeber switched to larger tires on OEM wheels and experienced worse handling performance.

My CTS-V Coupe rear wheels were 10" and given the clearances in the well and specs of the wheel, 305mm was the largest other Coupe owners were able to mount hence my lead-off question.

If I recall correctly, Ronin made this claim after switching to 305s, so he switched back to OEM.

I am not an expert. My thought on the 295 vs 305 rear is:

305
- may look a bit better perhaps ? to each their own.
- may have a fractional more contact patch, hence better traction on straight away acceleration but most likely not noticeable in normal road use.
- one possible drawback is the higher sidewall, hence, if one is doing some fast cornering, the extra sidewall height may comprise the handling dynamics of this aspect.
- given the 295 has pretty well maxed out on the wheel width limit, the 305 may cause some unnecessary stress on the 305 tire itself over time

I went larger tires with my W212 and had no problem. I did have some software update to correct esp sensitivity at some point
