Sold my 2019 E63s
I only owned this car for about 6 months bought it new and just didn’t care for it
I thought build quality was a little lacking, and it was great goin straight but not a good tourer
Bought a new 2020 e450 wagon, so far so good
the E63s just didn’t ring my bell

That’s interesting you would consider the build quality of the E63 to be lacking and go with a E450. I received a E450 loaner while my E63 was in for its service B and although they’re based on the same chassis, the amount of plastic in that car was hard to overlook. It was like driving a Toyota Camry. Just felt so cheap in comparison but to each their own. For every car, there is someone it’s perfect for and someone it’s not. Life is too short to settle for less.

Glad you found something that works better for you. Those e450s wagons are slick looking rigs out on the road.
My particular e63 wagon is, IMO, the best overall car I could imagine...I feel lucky to own it, glad I made the plunge and I wish I was driving it more.

Agree on both points. I'm amazed with my wagon every time I drive it and look for excuses to get out. Lock-down has not helped and I've had the "starter battery" alert a couple times.

I think the use of the term "Build Quality" is somewhat erroneous in his description. Any of the Es below the E53 have more plastic and a cheaper interior quality than the AMGs counterparts. However, the rather harsh shocks valving on the E63s make the interiors seem flimsy, things just crash and bump around in there

I think the reason you buy an AMG is to go fast. The car is brutally fast. I think comfort and interior quality supersedes your desire to drive fast. I sat in the AMG GT 4 door, that interior quality is on another level. If you want speed and interior quality check out the AMG GT 4 door.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
I went from a E63 AMG to a E450 about a year and half ago. No real regrets. It just felt like the E63 amg never drove right. Extremely harsh which you hear a lot about also the trans was very jumpy. Too jumpy for me. The other thing that really bothered me was the sound system, I had complained to the dealer a couple of times and was told everything was normal but it just sounded horrible yet the E450 sounds great and looks to be the same system. My only thought was at VPC somebody swapped out the good speakers for cheap speakers, I've heard that could have been happening and I believe it, something was really wrong. Really bothered me in a 122K car to have a sounds system that sounded like a 1975 Chevy Vega sound system. I also felt I really messed up by getting the car Red and was really sorry I did. I get a lot more compliments on my White E450 with the custom wheels than I ever did in the year I had the E63 AMG. It's a shame because I liked my 2012 E63 AMG wagon so much, was sorry I ever got rid of it. The Dinan Power Tuner really helped out on the E450, it's plenty fast enough for me.

everyone has different views on the car, but I love my car. I drive with a pack of super car owners, SVJ, GT2 RS and they all really love the build quality and the interior. The way it drives is amazing because I am easily keeping up with everyone on the streets and the back roads.

Yes, his description was erroneous. I also agree that rattles and squeaks can compromise the feel of quality in a vehicle. I had a couple squeaks and rattles in my E63 that I addressed with my dealer. They located and added appropriate material to eliminate the noise. However, I also believe most of the harshness is due to the 20" wheels and tires. If you were to swap E450 wheels and tires, the ride would be virtually as plush. As well as the other way around, the E450 would be much harsher and tend to reveal squeaks and rattles with 20" wheels and tires.
When I first got the car I was looking in the rearview mirror for the parts of the vehicle I felt sure that I had left on the road!
HOWEVER - I still have absolutely NO rattles or squeaks. Surprised? I sure as hell have been.
In a positive way, regarding "build quality". My feelings about the Pirelli runflat tires are well documented on this forum.

I have been having some of the same thoughts myself. My 2018 E63s is not "hitting the spot" like my 2016 E63s and other BMWs and Audis did for me. Not sure what it is, but it's just not really doing it for me. I really want to love this car, but it's just not there. Don't really want to sell it, yet, since I do like the idea of it and that I'm driving it (I consider MB to be superior to BMW and Audi) but in terms of the fund and happiness I get out of driving it - definitely lacking for me.

Never driven a E450 wagon but I would agree with others that the build quality my E63 wagon is very poor, especially compared with others cars in the 100k price range. The trim looks high quality but when you start driving you hear a lot of buzzing and creaking from the poor quality of plastics and fittings.
While the 63 may have nicer stuff like leather covered dash and carbon fiber, the actual plastic underneath isn't any better than a base E class.
I still love my wagon and don't find any issue with the actual drive and the motor is just amazing. But I do wish MB didn't pinch pennies to save a few bucks. Unfortunately that's the way MB is going by cutting corners on build quality.

Exactly what I did this week after car been sitting due to COVD-19. My previous generation W212 E63s still "rings my bell" and a real adrenaline rush. LOL!
Even after lumbering around in my daily driver (GLE63s) the E63s seems like a different experience. Wish AMG was at NASCAR LOL

Ya you do feel like a nascar driver In the E63s when you drive the car the way it’s meant to be driven. I have thought about another on just for the entertainment factor. Lol.
