go fast grocery getter wagon
that looks real bad. How long has it been like that ? You should visit your dealer to have them do a proper assessment of what went wrong.

As long as there hasn't been any paint work done to the car and you are within the warranty period then it should be covered.

Clear coat failure. That will have to be repainted. I wonder if the panel got repainted. Hopefully the dealer will cover.

I had a C400 that I purchased from a local dealer who specialized in European cars. Car was within warranty time and mileage. I had a area where the clear coat was peeling. Took the car to the local MB dealer where I have service done to have them look at the clear coat issue. The service manager climbed all over that car looking for signs of a repaint. If they suspect any signs of a repaint on any panel they won't warranty any paint or clear coat failure.

going to the dealer net week so they can take a look. heres another picture...the first pic really picks up the microscopic scratches etc. i take really good care of the car and am very careful when washing it, so am surprised to see this peeling.

once the dealer fixes this, i will have the car ceramic coated for sure.

That looks like a bad aftermarket repaint (clearcoat) job! Is it possible the car has been repainted at any point in its life? I would do more than a ceramic coating...I would go with PPF. At least the paint would be covered.

I bought the car from the dealer...certified used last August...no accidents/major repairs indicated in the car fax report etc

True.
CarFax knows about accident reported to DMV.
Bumper damage that is not reported won't show up.
