Car wash Soap for designo selenite grey??

So just got my 2020 beast in selentio grey. I know not to use soaps with a shining agent but still unsure specifically which to use? Any recommendations? Is it available in your traditional car parts stores or online special order ?

Hi and congrats on the new ride! I have a 2018 Night Black Magno wagon and use Meguiar's Gold Class which contains no wax additives and I also use Drx Beasley's which is a bit pricey but also works well on this type of paint. Make sure to get micro fiber towels to dry the paint and a soft mitt to soap up your new ride. This type of paint is easy to care for just don't use the cleaning mitt and towels for any other car.

Saw some Beasley products, which ones do you specifically use?

It's called "matte paint prescription" and it came with several products, a CD, wash bucket and two wash mitts. Kit is pricey but it contains some really good products. I ran out of the soap and started using the Maguiar's which works very well too.

We used this; think the same as Stratman. Worked great.
https://www.drbeasleys.com/matte-maintenance-kit.html

I kept wash mitts and buckets separate for the matte paint. Microfibers to dry were used on nay car.

I have some Adams product which I'm about out of. Considering giving Dr. Beasleys a try for the next bottle of soap.

Have a foam cannon and pressure washer and also a CR Spotless water system. The Selenite Grey is holding up well. Lately I've been using my shop vac with the hose connected to the outlet side and just blowing the car dry. Touch up with a towel here or there on the glass or the black chrome but otherwise comes out spot free.

In a pinch for my first wash I just a bit of dishwashing soap in the foam cannon. Actually worked pretty well.

I rinse the car off first with the pressure washer, foam it down, then wash off with a mitt and bucket with a grit guard, then rinse and dry. Sure beats the extra step of having to wax and polish too.

Just checked out the CR spotless system.. Which one did you get? Also do you connect the pressure washer to it or just use a regular hose for rinsing? THX!

I use Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte auto wash for my selenite gray magno paint. Works very well, and fairly inexpensive if you buy it by the gallon. Also use it in my foam cannon as a pre-wash

I purchased the Basic Car Care Package with the DIC-20.

I leave the system disconnected initially for the rinsing and foaming and then put it in line for the rinse cycle. I used to leave it in for the whole washing process but was going through the filters more often than I liked, especially once my daughter started washing her new car all the time. So cut back to just the rinse which seems to work OK, provided you're doing the washing in the early morning or later afternoon while temps are lower and sun isn't evaporating the water on the car before you can rinse it off.

The pressure washer doesn't actually use that much water compared to the hose hand sprayer. I have a Generac 3200 PSI gas powered pressure washer. Has various settings on the washer nozzle grip with one for car washing and a number of different nozzle inserts. Pretty happy with it compared to the Karcher electric pressure washer I had previously.

Just a note.. you won't need 3200 psi.... try and it keep it set around 1000 psi or so as to not cause damage to the paint. Some think more the better... not the case.

Right, sorry if that wasn't clear by mention of the car wash setting and car wash nozzle insert.

At full tilt with the wrong nozzle you can strip the car's finish down to bare metal !!

For those of you without a water filtration system (which are pricey), I use plain distilled water as a final rinse for my washes. It's the purest water you can find, and about 6 one-gallon jugs (about 0.80 each at Walmart) is all it takes, and the rinse is perfect, with no spotting, even if you later get a drip from behind some trim.

great! Ordered! I have the sun joe spx 3000 which has a max output of 1.76 gpm. It works great with the 25 degree nozzle. Really excited to lower my wash times!

Yep,

I foam and rinse them. I have CCBs so no brake dust. Most of the time I don't even hit them with the washing mitt. They just stay clean.

I have regular brakes, so I HAVE to hit them with soap and a mitt. I use the same soap as the wash: Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte, two bucket system.

But I’m sure you don’t use same bucket to clean wheels then the body because brake dust residue can really do some damage on the paint.

Top down. If you need to do brakes or the lower side of the car, do that last after the rest of the car has been done.

I have a separate mitt for the wheels. Also have a grit guard in the bucket.
