Dont skip the wrap, Definitively look into PPF. A lot of people thing ceramic pro protects paint but it really doesnt the way they think. My advise would be to just to wash it at home or going to a detailer.
Almost 99.9% of detailers have a wash area. Personally my car is pretty much an extension of myself and make sure its treated to the highest level.

For you guys that did a PPF and then ceramic coating, is it ok to put a ceramic coating on top of it? I heard it was not recommended
but on Xpel website said it's ok. Heard that comment from a couple of detailers here in FL.

yes, that’s the correct way to protect the paint. My PPF installer recommended and it works perfectly.

Ahhh, if your detailers were hesitant to cover PPF that has some miles on it that might make more sense. Depending on how beat up it is, and how well it takes a polish, it might make it tough to get the ceramic to stick on there. You should still be able to do it though.

My ceramic coat over the PPF was done when the PPF was installed brand new.

My PPF is less than 6 months old. The PPF installer told me to put spray wax on it. I put
ceramic coating on my last 2 Porsches. Fairly easy to put it on, IMHO. Lots of prep work, yes.
My cars are garaged in air conditioned garage. thx.

The newest one that doesn't require ceramic is Xpel Ultimate Plus, I had ceramic on Xpel Ultimate, but the new one with Plus doesn't require coating anymore and finally you can wash your car whenever you want. Ultimate Plus has gloss finish so car looks really good without adding waxes and ceramics. That was missing in Ultimate version, so car was looking without coat not so shiny.

not sure what is the purpose of not required?
just to clarify, cars in my example have the same ppf installed
this is why I called it “apples to apples”...

Any other OptiCoat Pro + users here? I've been thrilled on my last three cars. So easy to handwash myself then.

GermanMIA, can I ask where you take your car to get detailed? Always good to know of a good shop here in Miami.
