Is this an automatic update? First MB and I couldn't find where/how to update manually. Thanks.
Over-the-air updates are not as good as manual for three reasons. They only update one region, not all of North America. They don't update the voice files, and they can take a month or more to get pushed to your car.
To do a manual update, you log into the Mercedes Me portal and select Online Map Update under Mercedes me connect services. Then download and install the Download Manager, select all map regions and download to a USB stick. Insert the stick in the car and it will be sensed and ask your OK to update. That takes about 1/2 hour in the car. The download time depends on your internet.
Anyone know if this is a generic update for 2019 cars? I updated my E63 today but also have a C43 coupe and an E450 coupe. Would be nice if I didn't have to download for each.

If the E450 is a '19 with the same COMAND 5*5, I'd give it a try. Don't know about the C. Again, if it has the same version of COMAND, it could work.
May give it a go. I checked the file size on both the C43 and E450 and all were exactly the same. Worse case is the update fails and we go back to the old version.
Is there a coverage area for each of the map sections anywhere? I'll download them all, but am just curious if such a thing exists.

Haven't seen one specifically for the maps regions, but given how they are grouped, I'm pretty sure they follow the standard census regions with the Midwest separated into the Great Lakes states (East North Central) and the central states. At least for the USA. Canada is a single download for US spec cars, and so is Mexico. Not sure if they broke Canada up into smaller regions for you guys.

Could not run the Download Manger from the website, downloaded the image and it had I think Russian verbage. It said Carnovik on top.
Is that correct?
Yup thx. I loaded it and ran it. Seeing Russian in a downloaded app made me a little uneasy.
Being in software for 30 years, not a wise idea to continue.
