Any E53 owners here?

i wouldn’t be getting the hybrid C63 I would be getting the current V8. I’m looking at both E53 and C63S 2019-2020 models

I have had my E53 for over a year, no issues. Except telling the Dealer they needed to put 229.71 oil in it.
That motor is going in a lot more cars in the near future. one is the S500.

You mentioned you heard a lot of problems that is why I brought up the hybrid technology xD, I would assume the majority of the problems is cuz of the E53's hybrid tech.
Edit: since you are considering an E53 as well, sound might not be your priority, although the E53 doesn't sound bad at all.

I see. Great choice! If you want more sound though get the pfl C63, otherwise if you want the tech of the facelift then get the facelift.

I've had my car for a little over 2 years and 24,000 miles, and like it so much better than my 650IX convertible. Basically same HP, same 0-60 2 less cylinders, much more reliable, better ride and handling. Car has been reliable, except for wheel and tires, and one time one of the employees taking it out for a joyride (not really the car's fault). I have a dash cam, and the MB app, nailed it.

Its a pretty hard decision. I love sound. I love power. But I also love the space and luxury of the E53. Coming from a Lexus GS I’m use to a midsize sedan. Also won’t be tracking my car so do I really need 500 hp? But if the E53 is an electrical headache and the C63 is decently reliable. That may make my decision for me

Just picked up a gently used 2019 E53 Sedan with under 10K miles on it... still anxiously awaiting delivery. One major reason for the purchase was the relative Jeryl & Hide nature of it. By no means is it the power of a 63... but the combination of inline 6 and the mild hybrid system with electric compressor has enough to make it fun for me when in Sport+... yet throw it in comfort and it should be a softer ride for the wife and kids than my current vehicle. I had looked into some M550i at the same time and while they do have a brutish V8 in them... I just couldn't get passed what I'll see most of... the interior. Mine will be in Nut Brown Nappa with carbon fiber (a combination I wouldn't have thrown together in a configurator but love how it looks in... well thus far pictures) and when you add in all the other options in the car is just head and shoulders above what BMW is putting out now IMO.
Upon delivery I'll be getting XPEL applied to the front end... some mild window tints... and WeatherTechs (kid protection.) The notes on the stock Perellis are something I pretty well expected. Combination of 20" and run flats can be rough as it is... but already been looking at Michelin PS4s or Continental ExtremeContact Sport (as they've done well on my current vehicle.) Anyway... just joined the forum and wanted to give this thread a bump. looking forward to more discussions on the car... experiences... and maybe tuning etc.

Hi there, people having driven both, can the E53 be more comfortable than a E63 ?
I have been considering E63 for a long time, but was put off by many reviews pointing out a stiff ride, non-mercedes like, especially for the latest models ?
Never test-drove one, except an older 6.3L that was indeed too firm for me, and different non-amg versions that were plenty comfortable but of course missed any fun factor.
Thanks for for your inputs !!

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Brief Answer--
I loved my 213 63 Wagon. Had 21 "wheels, sensibly lowered, etc. It was just fine on good pavement, but Mercedes just cannot seem to get a good balance on rough surface like BMW and Audi can. I do agree that, almost always, the second generation of a chassis is better, after they have gotten so many complaints.about ride quality. If you want the far better ride quality, then I would have to spend the extra money for the new one. I've been riding on big wheels and shorter suspensions for years, so I'm a bit accustomed to it. But you may not be or want to be......
No way to tell except a ride and drive. BTW, I have a 213 43 that I'm driving now, and the ride quality is far superior to all the 211's and 212's I have owned, even with the big wheels and tires and Renntech lowering,
Just my .02, worth exactly what you paid for the advice.....

I drove a E 63S at Road Atlanta while in an AMG driving school and I had a C 63S sedan for 2 years till the C coupes came available. I sold the C63 S because 2-3 hours down the road you had to stop and take a break. The 63 S cars all have a stiff very stiff suspension even in the comfort mode. I am coupe guy ! I ordered a C 63 and not the S for this reason. Much comfortable for every day driving and in sports suspension mode same firmness as the C 63S when needed. I could not tell any difference in the 0-60 from C63S 3.8 to C63 3.9 speed. When this car came off lease switched and ordered a new E53. Impossible to say how nice this car is if looking for a every day Sport Coupe with comfort, handling of all-wheel-drive and air suspension system . Bought 20" rims, no stiff tire feel. The power with the EQ Boosts gives instant torque at all speeds and plenty useable of power.
E53 w performance exhaust has a very great sound but not quite the sound of that of a 63 V8 . MB claims E53 0-60 at 4.3 Car and Driver tested 4.1. I hope this helps, all these cars of been great to drive and fun to own, my E53 is right for now.
My favorite car is always the next one !

We are singing the same song. My 213 and 212's were fabulous in many ways, but the 213 is a ilttle more benign and I like that.
It's a shame that so many people want to run down the 43 and 53, they are super cars to drive. Mmost people whol have the negative comments haven't even been in one.
Even with bigger 20" Vossens and Pirellis RFT;s, my 43 runs, corners, and tracks really well. Next step for me will be a 53 convertible, there's a nice blog about it on Google that appeared yesterday.
Good luck in your trek...

Switched to Michelin Pilot non run flats. No comparison in ride and handling!

Good Morning All!
My name is Xavier from Texas and I just ordered my 2022 AMG E53 Cabriolet this month. This will probably be the longest 3-8 months of my life! lol... Is this the only E53 forum on MBWorld? Will this become the main one? or will someone start a new one? Just curious because I would really like to get to know other E53 owners and share in information and experiences. For reasons I do not understand, there seems to be a lot of "hate" out there for the model even though it is an amazing machine as far as I can see. In any case, excited to meet and learn from all of you in the future! Have an awesome day and beyond!

I don't have an E53 myself personally but I have friends that do, let us know if you have any questions.
Good luck with your order!

Now that I read your response, "hate" seems almost too strong a word... Maybe strong dislike among some AMG owners perhaps? lol. For me... All MB vehicles are pretty amazing and I am just blessed to now be able to say I am an owner. Thanks for the positive response... I look forward to being a part of the MB family!

I am the extremely happy owner of a 2021 E53 convertible. It’s gorgeous, fast and extremely comfortable. The worst part was finding it. I flew from Chicago to Pittsburgh to buy it and drive it back.
I’ve also had an M6 and there is no comparison. So much more comfortable. I’ve had a lot of nice cars so I have a basis of comparison.

19 E63s(wifeys) & a 21 GLE580
Hate might be a little strong and I do agree that the 53 probably needs its own area. But there might not be enough activity to justify it though.
I do find a lot of help though for basic stuff in the regular W213 forum, so don’t forget to look there too.
Good luck and the wait will be worth it. (I waited right at a year on my 580. Dang you Covid!!)

I have a 2020 E53 one of the few built
I have a 2020 E53 one of the few built, mine was the last one out of the factory before they shut down for covid. So it has the rare distinction of being the last 2020 E53 ever built and one of the few with a 2020.5 vin. It’s Also a very rare green color. I don’t think anyone else in North America has a green 2020 E53. The dealer was saying like 2 were built in green and like 6 or 7 green overall since 2018. Add to that I completely customized it to my own liking
Black ash wood interior, black designo seats, heated steering wheel etc……. It’s a beautiful and unique car. I love it, and can’t wait for the warranty to expire so I can explore its true potential. But for now it will stay stock………… Needless to say, when I upgrade I’ll order, and it will be another AMG Mercedes. This car, and my wife’s AMG has sold us on the brand. It’s impossible to look back and anything less is a downgrade.
If you look closely you can see the green color and gold flake. The paint on this car is amazing.

Thought I’d throw my 6 month comments in too.
I took delivery of my 2021 e53 in march and have driven it every day since. My choice of 19” rims was a good one for me as we have horrible roads and the ride is stellar. For normal driving I just leave it in comfort and it is a smooth but not floaty ride. Switching to S or S+ is a lot of fun but it’s also. Ice to be able to turn it off.
Thus far my only complaint is that you have to plug in an iPhone to get CarPlay, but then again I have AR navigation so I don’t miss it too much.
I have had no mechanical or electrical issues at all and could not be happier. A far cry from my 550M and C6 corvette. This wins for daily driver and fun in one package to me.
