Does anybody know the tint percentage of the factory rear privacy glass of the E53 Sedan?
I’m thinking of importing a UK spec car into my country and just need to find out if the percentage is within the allowable range for my country law requirements.
When I got my 2019 E63s in June the car had 5% limo tint all around and light windshield tint as well. I had to lower my windows to see where I was going in my condo parking garage. I was actually scared to drive the car at night because I was worried I was going to hit a curb. I changed the front windows to 20%, and can see much more clearly at night.
Even with the 20% fronts it still looks pitch black. Initially I was going to change all the windows to 20%, but now I don’t mind the rears being 5%.

Be really careful about tinting the front windshield with anything other than clear tint. If you ever get into an accident where someone gets seriously hurt, good luck defending against the opposing injury lawyer using your illegal front window tint to paint you into a demonic individual who has absolutely no regard for the law.

Good point! I live in Vegas too, which is a mecca for injury attorneys! Will definitely have windshield tint removed and replaced with clear reflective solar film. Thanks for the tip!
