Q: Own vs. Lease?
How many people on here own and how many lease their W213 AMGs?
Been reading here for a long time, and gather that there are many more leasers than I had thought. Any ideas on ratio?
Just curious.

Owned and paid cash. No finance.
i don’t want to pay sky high mb interest rate of 5.99% and I have the flexibility of when to get a new car (not tied up to any lease obligation)

Owned, financed half then paid off that loan in a few months when other investments were ready to cash out.
To date I've never leased a vehicle. Tend to buy and hold for quite a while.

Own and financed. Got 20% off a brand new 2019 which had been sitting on the lot for quite some time and 2.49% financing. With that deal, I am actually paying less than I would have on a lease of another, similarly optioned, new E63S.

leased
have no clue why anybody would own these cars
my lease started clean
if you take my lease payout compared to the kelley bluebook, mercedes financial is going to take a $20k bath
$1,800-$2,200/mo lease, $0 down other than inceptions/tax/tag/title
36 months, say bye, get something new. more like 33 given some pullahead from dealers. even less if you take over somebody's lease with only 12-21 months remaining on swapalease

aren't you technically inflexible because you are almost permanently upside down until about 36 months when the depreciation curve flattens out, even if not longer?

Owned. Financed with bank of america. Their car loans are MUCH lower than MB Financial. 2.64 percent APR for $95K loan (I have credit score over 810).
BOA is always the ranked major bank for car loans. I did the research. Have used them on multiple car loans and refis.
Leasing makes little sense with AMGs unless you can get a business deduction. Unlike BMW with its M cars, Mercedes really does not like to subsidize its AMG leases usually.

owned. Paid cash because I like to be independent in my decisions as much as possible.

If the math does not seem logical, then I have the flexibility to keep the car until there is a point of time that I would like to get something else. Again, I am not tied up to a lease.
Leasing may work if you can expense it to your business or your employer provided you with some sort of car allowances.

We have always leased through our LLC. There are great tax advantages to leasing for us. But I must say that at the end of all of our leases, the value of the car was considerably less than the residual value. We have also used MSD's to reduce the money factor which has significant impacts on the rate.

I'm not a business man, but how do businesses get to lease cars? For a better rate not available to non business owners? Just curious.
