Hello,
So, I just took possession of a lightly used '19 E63s Wagon. Second AMG I've owned and so far I'm loving it! I came from a 991.2 C2S. The issue was, I had the Porsche and a car for work, but nothing in between to allow room for my large (110 lb) dog (best companion), mountain bike, and camping equipment. I don't have kids, so this is where things get interesting to some outsiders trying to figure out why a single guy in his late 30's would want a wagon. I didn't want a sluggish SUV as I have gone that route and didn't want the Panamera as the seating config in the rear is terrible for my needs.
So, my question is for some of you, did you purchase an EWagon as a single male/female with no kids? Or, did you purchase it as a sporty kid carrier? Would love to know your thoughts.
My neighbors all look at me like I'm some crazy dude driving a wagon, but none of them really know what this vehicle is all about.

I agree. I can't seem to locate a way to edit the poll, though.

I have one son, and I like dogs well enough, but I am not a "dog person", or outdoor adventure person. When I get one it well be because it will do everything I want, including anything I use my Silverado for. And yes, I love the idea of a big, long-roof that is fast enough to waste 95% of the cars it will ever encounter on the road. It is an ideal muscle car. It will be nice as well since my son is 6'4" and I am 6'5" as well......there is not much we can both be comfortable in. Not to mention it is an excellent place to sit!

i bought a wagon... because the estates simply look awesome. that was #1. but i do have large dogs AND kids, so it was an extra bonus. it is great for my bikes also when i transport those.

I am married, no kids, one big yellow Labrador. The yellow lab is not allowed in my car. He sheds constantly, and getting his tan hair out of the back is impossible. He has his own car to be driven around in. I was in an SUV before this, and wanted something more fun to drive that wasn’t a small sports car. I am a big guy.
Most of my neighbors, wife included, couldn’t understand why I bought a wagon, except for one guy. Until I started it with the emotional start thing, and then my next door 911 driving neighbor peeked over to see what was going on. Now he wants to drive it, but I guess is embarrassed to ask. Another guy was excited that someone was finally building a “sexy” wagon.
Enjoy the wagon!

Single, no kids and no dogs here. I've only ever owned wagons, as I need the cargo capacity for carrying model airplanes (summer) and cross-country ski stuff (winter). Could never drive a minivan or SUV, as they handle like crap.

I have had a variety of station wagons, continously, over the past 40+ years. Including when I was young and single. Many people did not understand how useful/practical they are. I finally bought a 2019 e63s wagon and am thoroughly enjoying it as my best car ever. Currently no kids at home and a dog that isn't allowed in it.

After having 2 family SUV's (LX 470's), an SAV ( X5M) , I am finally ready for a Wagon. I personally think it's best of all worlds, cross between a sedan, a sports car and an SUV . Feels like a sedan, performs like a sports car and utility like an SUV.

No kids here, I've recently started warming up to the idea of the 63 wagon. Personally, I think it's a bad *** machine and you don't need to have kids or a dog to enjoy it.
Ok, my reply is all over the map I know.. I answered that I have a kid but that is not why...We have one kid now, but I have been a wagon guy for many years going back to Volvo Rs...i was wagons for the sleeper, practicality, and uniqueness... The theme I gravitate towards, which has entered many a threads, is related to Europe... go to Germany, or even live there (I have for 3, 3 year + military tours, and you will get it! Wagons rule. If you see a mini van or SUV it is probably and an American... And that is fine. But when you want to go the the antique market, let down the seats for the item you bought, while doing 150 MPH plus fofr hours home.. it is just pretty cool. It is cool here in the US also even though you can't go that fast... like when someone in a boxster says we should race,... and you know you dont really need to...

if u have kids get the gle63s, much easier to get in and out of.
I really enjoyed all of the responses here. It's cool to see what uses these cars provide. I can't think of another vehicle that I'd want to own after this. Practicality is off the scale, as is the performance. Thanks for everyone's input!

Congrats on the smart choice. It is the only car to own IMO.Originally Posted by DwightkShrute

You should have all a choice for "all of the above" too. I have kids, 100lb Lab, and bike rack up top. I get more miles headed to rides in VT and elsewhere than I do carting kids to soccer (well, nowadays). And don't worry about neighbors, or anyone else. I have only ever owned wagons, from my 20s to now and will never buy anything else. Cycling shaped me to this.
Cheers

One kid (plus one on the way) and 200lbs of dog meat.
Best car on the road.

Late reply to your comment. Thanks on the congrats! I love this car, beyond what I thought I would. Coming from multiple Porsches, this just ticks every box for me.
I used to live in VT and always had an older Audi wagon for my cycling needs as well as sliding around the back roads.
I was curious, do you put your bike on top or in the cargo area?

I can't think of a better vehicle now that I've owned one. What a machine!

Is there a different thread for the pics?
Where in NC do you live? I'm over near UNC
No Sir. I never posted them. I probably should, though.
I'm north of Greensboro. Oak Ridge area.

Reawakening this thread to share that I have put my wagon up for sale. I was able to enjoy it for a couple of months, but recently took a new role which is requiring me to relocate up north. After living up north, I cannot think of a worse car to drive on the roads in northern New York and Vermont. They're among the worst I've experienced in my lifetime. Not only that, while I know it's just a car, I do not see myself driving it in the snow and won't have much time for driving now, so financially, it makes the most sense to sell it and revisit ownership in a few years.
The car is posted on Autotrader. It's black on black in case anyone is interested. I will create a post here as well once I get time to take some quality photos.

Yeah, my most enjoyable drives have been to VT. Would rather be back in CO Rockies, but take what you can get. Good luck with the sale, Dwight.Originally Posted by steelerguy
