The engine takes long time to warm up
The engine in my e63s -18 takes too long time to wam up, need to drive almost 15 minutes at 100km / h to get up to 70 degrees.
The gearbox takes longer to get warm, almost 25 minutes in 100km/h , to get up to 65 degrees.
Is this normal, has anyone had similar experience before?

tranny fluid took 6 mins and change.

I usually put the car's engine mode in sport (?) so that it keeps the revs higher (maybe 1500k?). If I don't do this it will take another 3-7 minutes before warming up driving at city speeds.

These cars have efficient airflow and huge cooling capacity, with thermostat open and at the high speed takes a long time to warm up the engine.
Believe beast was barely getting to the normal temp after about 100 miles and average approx 70 mph!
Outside temps in the morning vary from a low of around 40 deg F on a cold day to upper 60s typically, though we have been having a heatwave lately.
My engine temp changes from blue to white usually in a couple of miles and the transmission temp changes from blue to white within 4 miles. I know this because it almost always turns white before I reach my office and that's almost exactly 4 miles.

I don't recall trying launch control while the engine and trans are cold, but I heard that launch control is disabled until the temps have turned white.

I took a ride with my car, see attached picture.
Engine temperature seems to be good but the gearbox is a big question.
Do you have any tips or advice ?
The outside temp: 14C.
79C = 142F 39C = 102F

highways or local roads ?
in wintry temperatures (like -10 degree C), this will never (per se) be in the normal temperature zone then

If was great fun for the girls.Temps were frequently down below 0 C in the mornings when we would start out for the day and I don't recall any problems with the car not getting both engine and transmission temps up into the white. I was strictly following the running-in instructions so wasn't watching the numbers closely in anticipation of being able to tromp on the throttle - but that's my recollection for what it is worth.

here is some general info on running a cold engine

But what I can´t undertand is why some, exactly same car takes maximum half the time as mine.
I compare the same weather conditions as mine.
