In the wet but arguably real world scenario. It would be interesting if they repeated this in the dry later.

Carwow did a video a few months ago in the dry with the M5 (Competition, I think), the E63S wagon, the RS6 wagon and the Panamera Turbo S Hybrid wagon. The E63S came in second overall behind the M5 sedan, and Porsche in 3rd and the Audi in 4th, pretty consistently.

Yes, I watched that one as well. However, that was the 2020 model and not the current 2021 refresh E63S. Mercedes may have made some undisclosed enhancements to the output of the latest spec. I’m sure as more performance reviews are published, we’ll know.

I'm curious to see what updates were made to the W213.5, as before the pre-facelift M5 comp was pretty consistently walking away from the pre-facelift E63s. The roles seem reversed for the new facelifts.

MB could have optimized the 9G MCT to accomplish this instead of adding more power/TQ unofficially.

My thoughts are the same. It's not unlike Mercedes to not advertise an enhancement and just let the performance speak for itself. Or, the M5 was a turd and the E63S was a good one in this particular review... LOL

I definitely want to see them race in the dry. I'm surprised how much the e63 pulled from a roll on the m5 comp, doesn't make sense from the videos I've seen. Maybe we'll just chalk that up to poor conditions in the wet or tires or whatever. But a rematch in the dry is a must. If the the 2021 e63 pulls on the m5 comp, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
