Performance Seats
Hi All!
Looking closely at 2019-2020 E63S. How common are the Performance seats? Or rather, how difficult will it be to find a used e63 with this option?
Were the performance seats a stand-alone option or were they part of a package?
What other must have options do you guys recommend I do not compromise for?
Final, why E63S over M5 Comp? I don't mean to start a shootout, just want honest opinions from you guys who've probably driven or even have both.

Yes, they were a standalone option, no they are not very common in the E. In fact MB discontinued them for North America starting with the 2021s. They did not sell well. Sadly, most people perceived them as uncomfortable. MB is discontinuing them in the SUVs and sedans for North America.

Performance seats are not very common unfortunately. They’re stiff but they look SO GOOD. Other must-have is the Burmeister 3D IMO. Absolute best sound system I’ve ever had in a car, including some pretty beefy custom builds in my younger days. Other options I have and love are the Night Package, Carbon 1, Carbon Interior, CCB’s, forged wheels.
I drove both, the M5 was a tick faster and rode smoother. Ultimately chose the AMG because it’s better built and I much prefer the looks and sounds. No comparison with regards to interiors IMO, the E63 is opulent and its LED lighting is so cool I’ll never get over it.

2018 E63s wagon [now sold] (& lots of Subarus)
maybe 5-10% of the E63 models have the sport seats. i searched all of 2020 for a 2018 E63s wagon with the sport seats, of the ~50 or so 2018 models i saw go up for sale in 2020, at most 10 had the sport seats, and i bought the one that was brown interior.
its so beautiful, and i find them very comfortable yet firm. I can understand why they dont sell as well in north america though, because they are not for older people (hard to get in and out of) or overweight people
