Key is to change pads more frequently especially if you are a little more aggressive with the brakes. Pads absorb more heat and protect the CCB rotors, once below 50% consider replacing. The pads are not expensive at all, most cost is in the rotors. I went to almost 30k miles and replaced the pads, that included a couple of track days (admittedly not pushing to the max.) I also had the rotors measured and was about 80-90% of new at each corner. My wagon also saw plenty of snow time with TC engaging. Agree with others that they are a top option to get. Only thing that I feared were stones scoring a rotor or a tech dropping a wheel on one when replacing the wheel. A little more stress at those times otherwise a joy.

In my experience, if you take care of your brake pads (and don't do too many track days) the rotors could last you the lifetime of your car. The biggest concern with the ceramics for me, living in the northeast, is damage from rocks through the winters. Also, not certain how they react to road salt.
