It's what we do. Could have had a CR-V last June. RS6 with the steel suspension is definitely the way to go. I had that on my 2020 S6 and loved it. I think the Mercedes interior is much better than the Audi. I would prefer a wagon to the Cayenne. Order all 3 and take the first that comes in.

You’re probably right about the Cayenne. I’d probably lament buying an SUV in the long run. I’ll certainly keep my place in line on both of these cars and like you mentioned probably just get the one that gets here first. I’m hoping it’s the E63. I also agree on the E63 interior. It’s vastly superior. It actually has buttons!

Anyone else out there with a 3rd decade of May build (allocation/PO was issued the second week of February) that has any updates or info???? Haven't heard anything from my dealer and I'm honestly afraid to call. Ha!

I'm 3D of May and my dealer said everything still looks fine. Of course, its already 4 days into this decade so I'm getting antsy if it isn't in production yet. I guess we have until May 31 for production to start, after that, it's late.

I had a 2nd decade of April for my wagon but finally received word on 5/17 it was produced and at the port waiting for a ship assignment. This allocation was locked on 1/25/21. Nothing since from the dealership.

Update: Departed Germany on 5/26 aboard the Garnet Ace heading across the pond. Hoping to have it sometime towards the end of June.

Final Update: Received an email from my dealership on 6/21/21 stating my wagon would be available for me to pick up on June 23rd which happens to be our grandson's birthday. I went in that afternoon and during the inspection I was told somebody came in and wanted to buy it but was told it was pre-sold. They got upset and I don't blame them. I guess all incoming vehicles get loaded into the inventory because I went into their website and sure enough it was listed for sell. I believe this is common practice but the program needs to be modified and any incoming vehicles already sold should not be listed.

So far, this is one amazing wagon and looking forward to many smiles per mile driving this AMG.

Dealer told me today that there was a note added today that it was about to begin production. So far on time.

I just tried to have the dealer add multi-contour seats to my July build and she said it would have pushed my build out months, so I guess that is still a supply issue. It's worth checking on if any of your builds are getting pushed out later to see if this is a factor.

Spoke to my dealer on Friday, he said production date of June 14 on mine as well, so I guess it's a done deal. He said the multi contour seats were still there, so I guess I got lucky. I finally saw a (new) '21 E 63 AMG this weekend in a parking deck....it is the first '21 53 or 63s I've seen here in Atlanta out in public, it was an obsidian black, black wheels, and black/night pkg. It seriously is a beautiful car. I know it's subjective but I really think MB hit it out of the park with this one. IMO it looked just as good as the Ferrari it was parked next to!

So if I'm understanding this correctly your estimate was 3D May and you've been pushed out to 3D June? I just emailed my dealer and they're confused as to what they're getting in the system.

yeah. It looks like it was initially planned for 3D of November last year. Then got scheduled decade to 3D of may. And now with an actual production date for 6/21. Not sure if mine should have started already but got delayed due to options? I did get the multi contour seats so who knows if that played a role in getting scheduled further out.

Well finally got some great news as my first build is onboard the "Tijuca" awaiting departure to Baltimore with an ETA of 06/16. This AMG wagon was allocated back in January with a build scheduled for 3D of April as a reference to others awaiting some good news and hopefully some of you are onboard this ship as well. My second build is in production with hopefully all of the options I order this time (active seats being number one for me). I will make the finally decision once I see the first build around the end of month if I want to accept or pass for next build, that will be a tuff decision unless the second build is complete and on boat.

My third decade of May production E63S has been delayed indefinitely with no updated build date. Is anybody else in the same boat?

According to my dealer, my car started production 5/17, so the week before yours, and was to have been completed 6/1, but I haven't received confirmation. I'll check with him and report back.

I’ll need a paddle too !!! I’m afraid my 3rd decade of May build has fallen into the same status. My guy’s last response was, that this is affecting thousands of cars and haven’t heard boo since. I’ve still got time and don’t need the car yesterday, but this may end up being a death march. I’m hoping to hear something. If I don’t hear from them in a couple weeks, I’ll reach out again to see if the wagon status is still stalled.

Mercedes has a part of the factory for rework for cars produced, but not completed. Several of us have experienced software glitches that potentially could have created a dangerous situation. It's possible that these software/hardware issues are one of the root causes for the delays. It's also likely that the graphics chip shortage has finally caused production to cease. Years ago i had an E300 being held for months because of a crankshaft issue on the 4-cyl engines. Hundreds of cars needed to be reworked before release. I switched to another build which arrived months later. Eventually, the originak build arrived at the dealer with the reworked engine. YMMV

Mine is still scheduled for 6/21 according to my dealer and that the build was confirmed just this morning. I do have a vin showing now. Hopefully it starts production in a week.

I thought if you had a VIN you are built?

No, it just means that the assembly has been assigned into production. Unfortunately, having a VIN does not mean that the vehicle is produced to final.

My E63S Wagon should have been on the boat by now, but hasn't started production. Now scheduled to start production 6/25 and finish 7/9. On the bright side, my RS7 trade-in value has gone up about 10%, even with more miles on it.
