Got a trivial question about memory cards.. With another 5 months of waiting until I can take ownership of my wagon, I just need to do something to kill time. Can anybody recommend what type of memory cards can be used in the 2021 e63s? I tried to find a picture online, but have not found anything. Also, what type of formatting is necessary? Anything helps to keep my sanity.

 

Memory card? For music? For that you can use a USB drive or a SD card.

 

Just this weekend "upgraded" my SD card so fresh info here. I had an old 32GB card for my 2012 E550, but felt sluggish in the 2019 E63S (everything has to be faster, right?)

So I bought a Sony "Tough" SDXC card - Formatted as a FAT32 (I have a Mac, but Disk Utility will do this)
Created directory/Folder at the root called "MUSIC"
And copied files into here (You also can create sub-folders by artist, playlist, album, etc.)

Works great!

Any USBC should work. I got a 2 TB Sandisk flash drive with USBC cable and have music on it and use it to record front camera. I’ll never fill it, but it can take a beating.

 

Are you talking about a dash cam, or did you figure a way to record the camera we already have in the front of the car?

 

I have the built in dash cam which can record on an external device.
