Harshness Solved

1. Changed the Pirelli P-Zeros to Michelin PS4 - $1200 - smoothed the ride somewhat, better sounding road noise although just as much
2. Reduced tire pressure from the max to the minimum - this helped a lot and I should have tried this with the Pirellis
3. Downgraded to 19” rims with Continental DWS06 All Seasons - $5200 - this finally solved the problem
The Conti’s are noticeably quieter, but most importantly almost all of the harshness is gone. This is for all poor quality pavement (which seems to be all we have in Texas) but most noticeable over expansion joints and driving over those little reflectors on the road.
For everyday driving the car drives smoothly and quietly (as it should in comfort mode). I will keep the 20” wheels and tires for track day, or when our group goes out for spirited drives.
There are some downsides. The Conti’s don’t track as straight as the Michelins, so you find yourself correcting more, and of course dry grip isn’t nearly as good. But the main downside is that the don’t look as good as the 20s.
Neverthess, for me this solved the problem and I’m finally very happy with the car.
For those interested, I purchased the stock 19” AMG rims from original-Räder.de. The cost was $2952 including shipping from German and they arrived 6 days after ordering. Excellent customer service and the wheels arrived in perfect condition. Tires from Tire Rack.

6 Years / 45,000 Miles Half mileage for rear if different size than front

Update: Apparently, side to side rotation is not recognized by Michelin as conforming. Hence, 1/2 mileage like Continental.
