I have a 22 E53 on order. All standard, no added options except performance exhaust. I have a PO number and production is scheduled April. Delivery May. Is this a realistic timeline of what I should expect? My dealer just says "we'll see in April". I live in NJ.
Your dealer's guess is as good as anyone else's as Merc seems to still be dealing with the shortages here and there. My car's scheduled production decade was pushed out 3 times to the point where I gave up but was actually produced closer to the 3rd date planned. Hopefully things improve as we head further into 2022 and your car will be here before you know it.
The Orion Highway is docked in Baltimore, but at Sparrows Point, which is where the BMW and VW VPCs are. The MB VPC appears to be on the other side of the harbor. Can anyone confirm?
My car landed in Baltimore 11 days ago, but as far as I know it hasn't left the Vehicle Processing Center yet. Hopefully there isn't some sort of hangup.
No exact figures, but it would likely be about 150-200 wagons at most per year as my guess for US. I am in Canada, my guess would be 40 wagons at best.
I have owned mine for a bit more than 4 yrs now, I have seen < 10 on the roads during that time. That's how rare this is in Canada.

I see enough E63 wagons in Southern California to say there are far more sold in the US than just 200 per year.

How did the wrong trim piece leave the factory? The damage to both pieces would seem to be due to vandalism at the port. Wow! The titanium interior is very refined along with the carbon trim.
My dealer mentioned again that they’ve been having trouble sourcing carbon trim, which could be why it was stuck at the factory for almost 5mos after being produced. Maybe they gave up on the swoops and slapped some night package items on as a placeholder? I have the exterior carbon pack. No idea…
Those pieces break easily…I had my wagon for 2 weeks and was gently wiping the car with a microfiber towel and the trim just broke and fell off. The tabs that held the piece to the car broke so I had to get another replacement piece.
