Gremlins?
A couple of days ago when I started up my wagon the A/C came on full blast front and back. I discovered that the settings had become reset to 60 degrees side to side as well as the rear settings. I reset the settings back to what they had been the night before. Apparently the system had performed a reset, but I could not discover if and when it had occurred. Some weeks ago the massage function on the driver's seat turned on again without my initiation. Has anyone else experienced this sort of behavior?

While driving on a clear road at about 30MPH the braking assist decided a collision was imminent and started a panic stop. Fortunately no one was behind me or I was in traffic on the freeway. I turned off braking assist.

So...I have a '21 E63 wagon with 2,319 miles and now parked for 2-3 months. This Techno BS that does not work is really sad! ...so...we are not driving the wagon anymore, and I don't have time to decide if I want to keep it or sell it or have it repaired. The only Tech. that I trust is 2.5 hrs. away in Denver...
If you figure out a fix, please let me know.

I think that one of the forward sensors is either dirty or misaligned. I did have the system activate once in my previous E63S, but it was a very valid condition (car in front of me had slammed on its brakes and the tailights did not work so I didn't initially see the braking).

2. Park Assistant Inop has a software update for that which came out in May. I had the car updated and some of the other sensor alerts (phony) went away.

It is hard to fix something when it isn't happening and what I've seen at every dealer is if they can't reproduce the problem it doesn't get fixed. It is not worth it to me to risk my life while hoping that the dealer will eventually find a root cause. For all I know it is a design problem the dealer is powerless to fix.
In the cruise control settings one can set it to dynamically adjust speed based on the speed limit. I didn't turn that on when I first purchased the vehicle. During my first trip I was on a highway in Nevada. 2 lanes each direction and traffic was in the 70mph range. While passing a semi with cars in front of me and in back I noticed the speed limit on the HUD changed to 25mph. My first though was if I was running cruise control with that feature enabled something quite deadly could have happened.
Autonomous driving algorithms are still new and not perfect. Lane assist, collision avoidance, etc are parts of autonomous driving algorithms. It holds great promise but it isn't something I want to risk my life on. I figure if I can't stay in my own lane and keep from running into someone it may be time for me to hang up my keys.

I've driven for decades without having assistance in collision avoidance or staying in my lane. So for me those features are redundant. When they impact my driving in unexpected ways that can be dangerous I don't want them, thus I disabled it.

There are bad drivers everywhere. I drive under the assumption they're all idiots and will do something stupid at any time.
I used to be able to make generalizations about some areas of the country but now it is pretty much chaos everywhere. All one can do is be hyper aware at all times and plan for incredible stupidity.
