W213 code P0017
hey wassup MBWorld i have a check engine light on it says p0017 MFL- short circuit/crankshaft position -camshaft position correlation- bank 1 sensor B
does anybody know what that means and how to fix it? somebody pleeeease help me out

Im getting the heavy cranks too. For a temp solution, I clear the code with an obd2 scanner before each drive. Starts right up. Otherwise without it it starts the hard cranks after certain miles of driving at startup. Going to try a hard reset to see if that clears the code permanently.

Sometimes the start and stop works, sometimes it doesn’t, but I thought that was another issue.
I installed some LED lights and I got a battery drain warning, after that the car has been acting weird. So I took them out.
This P0017 issue started after I installed those lights.
I don’t know if it’s related but who knows.
I also need to mention that I got a very bad batch of gas that day and the check engine light came on. So I don’t know if it was one or the other, or both, but who knows it’s a mystery.

I’m using the $20 HT100 obd2 scanner from Walmart. I read on this forum that more expensive scanners clear the code permanently.

crazy how your has different issue for the same code,...mines say camshaft position sensor b correlation but when i changed them the problem still exist mercedes want 10000 to fix it but they also wanted $174 to change the cabin filter so i know it something simple just gotta figure it out

thats what they gave me i paid them 200 initial diagnosis then 720 just for them to check whats was going on then they asked 10000 to fix whatever problem they came up with i change both camshaft sensors and both solenoids also changed crankshaft sensor under front right tire still nothing days after takimg it to mercedes i had my trusted mechanic do the same thing mercedes said they did who knows cuz i wasnt there at benz shop but i was present with my mechanic when he open the top engine gasket and showed me my timing chain was nice and tight and in correct timing position did a tune up when i first bought the car i changed the spark plugs and cabin filter way before i took it to the benz dealer it was a 20 min job youtube taught me how to do everything myself but look how much benz try to charge me for the same thing that my mechanic was gonna do for 500 but before he realized the timing was good but this car got me turning into a mechanic myself i can fix alot of thing on this car thanks to youtube tho but yea,...this is the only thing wrong with my car is that code i had all the e class models ranging from 2006 2011 2016 and now 2017 this is the best by far i love this car but just this problem well i hope this saved you time and money P.S. i have the icarsoft V.3 diagnostic machine u gonna need that for any future electrical problems due to the new technology in the newer models
