Transmission issue?

I have a 2018 E63 with approximately 40000 miles. All scheduled maintenance performed. Total stock no modifications. I have weird issue that occurs after car washes and heavy rain or snow. After I park the car for an extended period, such as overnight, when I first start the car the next day and engage reverse and hit the accelerator the car will not move. Will simply be stuck for 3-5 seconds and then lurch backward with a bit of a slight crunching sound. Almost feels like the emergency brake is engaged and preventing the car from moving. Probably happened 10 times over last couple years. Been to dealer a couple of times but does not happen at the shop and no codes or other visable issues underneath they can identify. Really odd that it seems to have something to do with undercarriage becoming wet from rain or snow. Been to a couple of non-dealer mechanic friends of mine and they are stumped as well. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Rust on rotors after getting wet and drying. Happens on all my cars.

Yep its your brakes “stuck” not your transmission.

This happens to me after I wash my car and drive it the next day. It’s the brakes getting stuck to the rotors. Pretty normal.

There are simple ways to avoid this: using leaf blower to dry the brakes, or short drive around the block while braking few times will do the magic…

Thanks so much. Really appreciate. Actually ironic one of the mechanics I brought this to reached out to a MB dealer shop in another state and affirmed what you all said. Common problem with parking break sensor not releasing and equivalent to “sticking” to rotors. He said no big deal but got to tell you the sound it makes when it releases and lurches into motion sure doesn’t sound or feel like no big deal. But I am a bit overprotective with my car so I may be overly sensitive. Thanks again.

It’s the combination of materials used on oem brake pads and rotors . Brakes pads are getting stuck on the rotors after wet , pretty normal but scary in the same time .
Nothing wrong to be overly sensitive over the issue.

Try to remember to disengage the p brake when wet. After that sound a couple times, I got into the habit.
