AMG E53 Coupe
Have a 2020 AMG E53 Coupe with 20 inch rims. I'm in the northeast US and my tires and rims are getting clobbered. Thinking of switching to 18 inch or 19 inch. Anybody out there with any experience on this?

I use 19s on my E53 coupe and cabriolet in the winter. The ride is easily 2x better. Barely even feel potholes.
The 20s are generally fine until you hit a good pothole, or even a sunk manhole. It’s ridiculously jarring, especially with the OEM run flat tires. Switching the tires out to non run flats help as well, but still won’t come close to how well 19” tires absorbs bad roads.

I also use 19in winter tires ( not runflat) and the ride is better than my OEM 20in Pzero runflats. I recently also bought a set of 19in with all season Michelin AS4s. They are nicer as well. I will put my 20s on this summer for a couple months and then back to all season 19s. I rarely get a chance to do any houligan driving in suburban NJ so I really don't need hi performance tires. I also don't like the look of really low profile tires and 20s are borderline for me. I run regular tires with a mini ait inflater and goop injection kit in my trunk ( TPMS friendly they say) . Have not needed it yet. Bad thing for me is I bough wheel and tire insurance for my OEMs and don't use them much. I will add one more thing. I don't have a big budget for expensive wheels ( even OEM AMG wheels are pricey). so I buy Cheaper wheels on Tire Rack. They look good and no issues but I get 4 wheels for 1K as opposed to 1K per wheel. ( MSG by OZ)
