Happened twice now. I park the car and let it idle with my son inside. I’m gone for 5 minutes and come back to a car turned off with AC off too. I thought it might be the auto on/off feature but tried to put it in reverse and did not respond. The start button was blinking instead. I don’t like this at all. some guidance please.

I don't see anything in the operating manual that describes the behavior you described. Perhaps opening the door with the engine running triggered the shutdown after 4 minutes that is described. What happens if you have the key in your possession and leave the engine running after you have exited the car?Originally Posted by ddcha

Yes. The car shuts off when it’s running and no one is in driver seat. I know for sure it does this if you leave key in car. Not sure what happens if you take key fob. But I’m sure the passenger gets annoyed when it keeps dinging that it’s missing a key fob.

It can be started via the Mercedes Me Connect app after it has been shut off and locked. It will shut down in 4 mins if there is no one in the driver's and the fob is still in the car. Originally Posted by utsteve98

Thanks. I wonder what happens if I press the auto on/off button before exiting the car.
So this weekend I went to the store to get beer while vehicle was in park with my wife in the passenger seat. I turned off the Auto on/off button and left the key fob in the car. It shut off after 4 minutes FML. Any other way to stop this from happening? It was like 100 degrees yesterday.
