Weird smell from driver’s side rear wheel area
I have a 2021 e63s AMG wagon and have noticed an unpleasant smell coming from the driver’s side rear wheel area since the vehicle was brand new and was wondering if anyone else has come across this? I have read that new brakes can have a burning type of smell, and I do notice that on the passenger side rear wheel area, but the odor from the driver’s side rear wheel area in my car is different from that of the passenger side as it is a lot stronger and much more unpleasant as it actually smells a bit like sulfur/sewage. It is most prominent right after the car has been driven and hasn’t really gotten any better even after having put 3000 km on the odometer. If anyone has any thoughts or experience with this type of issue I would appreciate hearing about it and getting some advice, thanks in advance!

I've not experienced this with my 2021 sedan. However, the sulfur smell makes me wonder if there is an issue with a catalytic converter.

My wife reminded me that several years ago her Mazda CX-9 had the rotten egg smell show up. Shortly after the car had a catastrophic front transfer case failure. Mazda couldn't confirm that the smell was connected, but it was certainly timely to the failure.

Fwiw, the easiest way to see if a brake caliper is sticking is to use a temp gun right after driving to see if one brake is hotter than the respective brake on the other side.
Sulphur absolutely would be related to the cats. Easy enough to stick you nose up to each side, as long as there isn’t a cross pipe or h pipe installed.
