I’m still very puzzled Canada seems to have a lot more allocations than US. Strange indeed!

Nine produced or in production...but many more allocations out there to be built in 2023.

Great point. Is there any way to see how many allocations have been handed out?

Don't know but if I didn't have an order I'd probably wait at this point and hope they do something like this to the E63. There's great room for improvement in these cars.

"Introducing the world's most powerful four-cylinder engine in the all-new 2024 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE. It all starts with a 469 hp internal combustion engine featuring Formula One technology, and power is boosted further via the 201 hp electric motor to drive a total 671 hp combined output. Negotiate corners with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive and standard rear axle steering will firmly grip every turn with ease."

Unfortunately for me, I have my heart set on the W213. It’s been a car I’ve wanted since they came out. I thought I lost my chance to get one when they discontinued the V8 for 2022 but I have one shot left. Can’t bring myself to pay ADM for it since we all know what the market is about to do (and quickly at that).

Are you saying a total of nine have been allocated for MY2023? No, that is not correct. There are four dealers within 15 minutes of me in Los Angeles, and between them I am aware of six. There are 20+ other dealerships in So Cal, including the largest ones in the nation...certainly there a quite a few more among them...not to mention a handful on this board in other parts of the country with allocations.

I've found a total of 6 outside of any dealerships in CA.

Again, are we talking cars...built or in production, as Wassaby's screen grab seems to indicate...or total allocations for MY2023?

Do you have info on which CA dealers?

No 2023 have been built yet. Those 9 are the only ones that have been allocated so far for MY 2023.

^^^I'm the ME one. These early allocations may be 2021 orders that were locked but then cancelled due to stop order. Mercedes might be giving them priority. Most dealers I talk to will take a deposit but don't have an allocation.

C63S E Performance Wagon depicted in the Top Gear Video is interesting...because of batteries and other stuff its rear cargo area is not totally flat. I think when the wife's 2020 CRV Hybrid dies it might get replaced by the all electric VW ID. Buzz for around $40K-$60K...

Not going to happen for the US. The C-class wagons were available in Canada and the EU, but not in the US in recent years.

It's just possible that these are all of the wagons that can be built for the US. Priority for assembly parts is going to the Final Edition wagons and sedans. There are more allocations for the sedans, but these may be the ONLY wagons to be built in 2023 for the US. I personally hope that all the orders are fulfilled without omitted parts. The supply chain for the electronics is still stressed. Fingers crossed.

And ultimately who cares even if it is faster? It’ll sound like garbage and it’ll be soulless without the V8. Not to mention needlessly complex and even heavier. An disaster all around, imo. At that point, I’ll start shopping the other brands where you can at least get an inline six which is a nice consolation prize to the V8.

Oh, I somehow missed the 4-cylinder part. Incredible what they can do with it though. Maybe soulless but I can tell you somehow Porsche has engineered soul into the Taycan, which tells me soul is far broader than engine alone.

I was told by factory after order submission no CCB availability on my order and asked if I want to proceed with standard brakes. I said no let’s wait for carbon. I don’t know how that works, if anyone can chime in - do I get a warning or potentially lose my spot? My dealer says we shouldn’t wait too long, How long is too long? This was for a Jan build.

I would believe that you are SOL for changing a Jan build. Waiting for another slot is risky for this vehicle given it is EOL this model year.
