CAUTION!!!! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BUY WHEEL AND TIRE INSURANCE FROM SMART AUTOCARE.COM. I'm with them now for almost 4 years, and never had a problem until recently. This past week, first the right front wheel cracked, and couldn't hold air, 3 days later the left front cracked, and couldn't hold air. In each case the dealer attempted to deal with their claims process, and they were not responsive. When I tried to follow up, I was given assurances that things would get done. In the case on Labor Day, I had to leave early the next morning to take my son in law, from VA to the Cleveland Clinic for a procedure, so I paid the dealership (they wouldn't release the car, until they were paid), as the last communication from Smart Autocare, was "can't the wheel be repaired"?, The response from the dealer was that they wouldn't repair a cracked wheel, and they never heard back from the adjuster ($1,300 wheel and tire). I had sat in the dealership for over 6 hours!! The next incident, was 9/8, I dropped the car off at 7:15AM, and when the dealership told me that they had sent the pictures, first they said they received them, but hadn't been uploaded, to the adjuster. An hour later they told me they never received the pictures. Since I had been copied, I sent them again, confirmed they were received, and at 3PM I was told that the adjuster would be in touch with the service advisor immediately. An hour later, I again called, and said that the service technician would be leaving at 5PM and my service advisor would be leaving at 6PM. I received assurances that all they had to do, was negotiate the price of the tire with the dealership, and that it would be done right away. At 4:52 I called again, and was told that the person who had to approve things, had left for the day. I was leaving the next morning at 6AM to drive back to NY, and so again used my credit card, and figured that they would finish up in the morning, and I asked the service advisor to just credit me back, when they received the approval. When I called back to tell them that I had paid, and to work it out with the dealership, they informed me that the claim would be cancelled. When I submitted all the invoices to them today, I received an "immediate response" (go figure), all claims denied, as I had to receive approval, before any work could be commenced. I'm out of pocket just shy of $3,000, and will be filing a lawsuit!! I checked online, and the number of horror stories make mine seem like a fairy tale. I had claims in previous years, and no problem, now AVOID!!!!
