Mercedes dealership tire response
I bought a 2018 AMG E43 from California last year. I live in Pennsylvania. They have 20” pirelli p zero on them and I want to get some all seasonal.
Mercedes dealership is telling me that I have to get the pirelli summer run flats and nothing else can be used. They won’t even discuss it. I find this hard to believe because there are numerous options out there who are selling 20” all seasonal that aren’t run flats for my car.
I just joined this forum but going through the posts it looks like they are full of crap with what they are telling me.
Am I right?

From 2018 e class manual USA
seems to indicate ok to use mb approved winter or all season tires. My dealer sold me all seasons

Forget about the dealership, just go to your local Tire Discounters or euro indy shop (they can order from the Rack) and put some all seasons on. This isn’t complicated and you’ll save a bundle over going to the dealer for tires.

Perhaps you should also consider purchasing a Tirefit kit if you are planning to install non-run-flat tires. That's probably why the dealership is pushing back on the use of non-run-flat tires.

I asked my advisor about these since I have the continentals above purchased on Tire Rack. They said that they would get them for me under warranty if a flat happened. Thankfully I have not had any issues to test this out

I have mb wheel and tire insurance, likely a waste of money, but they will fix or replace whatever I have on the car. This proved true a few weeks ago when I hit a pothole on the highway and they replaced the non mb tire, a non run flat continental they did not have in stock but got for me the next day while I was driving their cle coup loaner.
